“A nice one”
The Basila hotel offers affordable staying in Florence in a walking distance from some of the city's main attractions. Also notable is a nice breakfast included in your pay. On the other hand on the day of our stay (an extremely hot Sunday in August) the air-conditioning was down and the technician was only due on Monday morning. All in all bear in mind that the rooms are very simple, the toilets-bathroom were modern and the location is convininent, also not far off from Florence main train station.
“Good location”
The hotel was well situated, about 5 minutes east walk away the train station, and close to the sights of central Florence. there is a wonderful bar around the corner on Via Nazionale which is also a micro brewery and serves fab beer. The only criticism would be that if you have a room at the front of the hotel prepare to be woken up by the morning bin collection and passing traffic. Nice self service buffet style breeakfast too. Good reasonable price, recommended.

The hotel was in a good location, really close to the main station and also very close to the main part of Florence, just a couple of small roads away. Very happy with the location. There might be nicer looking hotels out there but for what we paid it was great. The breakfast which was included, was very good. Wide choice of everything that you would want (obviously no fri-ups and that). Overall, if you are on a bit of a budget I would really recommend this hotel, I would stay again.
“Great Location - Dirty Hotel”
The hotel was in a great location (right down the street from David) and close to the historic center of Florence. Other than that, the hotel was dirty, the breakfast was absolutly horrible, and the rooms were very small with TV's about 30 years old.
“Not recommended at all”
I don't like this hotel at all, for 1. bad temper of the hotel manager (mistreated foreigners very badly); 2. broken of my personal belongings without any apology; 3. extra charge on internet (7 EUR per 24hour) which they advertised for free when I made the reservation. They only told me that they changed policy very recently (actually just one week ago). But I booked this hotel like two months ago.... The room is also very old and you can tell from the poor condition and bad smell. Not worthy the price at all...
