“Tudorbank Hotel in Costorphine, Edinburgh”

A remarkably well placed hotel, on a direct route to Central Edinburgh, very close to Edinburgh Zoo (go see the Pandas) and Murrayfield (for sportsfans, rugby and a walk). There are many places to go walking, and the view of the hills and countryside is great. The area near the hotel has good facilities (there is a chinese restaurant & take-away - chinese take-aways are necessary for my survival, a good selection of local shops, big name brands, banks [cash machines], cafes, pubs, thrift and charity shops, regular buses), the St Johns Road is not the actual main high street of the area; I found out from a taxi ride that Costorphine High Street is just off and away down one of the roads from St Johns Road. The facilities and utilities of Tudborbank Hotel are top notch and new, with an extravagantly sized bathroom with a huge, deep, long bath and excellent & controllable shower. Some of the decor, furnishings and linen is perhaps similar to a dollhouse; the building is solid in construction and of the familiar Tudor design. So, that may be more to the liking of American, Chinese and Japanese tourists who are looking for an old world experience. The hoteliers are friendly and accommodating with their quick witted knowledge of useful tourist information (formal information & maps are also provided free in booklet and printed guides). They do a selection of breakfast foods (from cereals, fruit, juices and a cooked "english breakfast"); they run a fantastic little establishment.
