“Great weekend away”

Ideally located in the heart of it all and reasonably priced. Darko organised pickup from the airport and his wife met us at the old-town gate to guide us to our appartment. Great service.

“Comfortable and cheap in the Old Town”

Our host, Darko, was friendly and chatty. We needed to park our car for a couple of nights, and he was very helpful in taking us to the secure location nearby (even offering me a lift on his scooter!). The room is comfortable, with air-con and local TV. Be warned, you will need to climb steep steps to reach the building, and again there is a small, steep staircase with no bannister to get to the upper room - so this is not suitable for disabled or infirm travellers.

“Exciting location of a family run small hotel in Dubrovnik”

The hotel resides on a very steep street, in the very hart of Dubrovnik old city. Run by an energetic and friendly lady and her son, the hotel has 2 blocks of rooms. Ours had, fairly comfortable and spotless clean rooms. Our room was low ceiling, causing me to bang my head several times until getting accustomed to it, but otherwise was very nice, with a good bed and nice carpets. Other room was bigger, but the toilette and the shower were on anther floor, through the lobby, and I heard one couple who refused to stay there. There was a small kitchenette for all tenants at this entrance, the owners spoke good English and were extremely friendly and helpful.

“Great Base”

A great place to stay, right in the heart of a wonderful city. The owners are lovely and very helpful. To have a base like this when there is so much to see and do in the town elsewhere was superb. No complaints!!!

“Good fitness level would be a great benefit.”

We were just not prepared for the series of steep steps involved in getting from the main street in the old city to our room. It is a great location, being in the heart of the old city of Dubrovnik, but quite exhausting (especially in 30 + temperatures during our stay) to go back and forth. If you are considering this sobe be prepared for a grueling climb to get to there. This probably wouldn't be a problem for those who are very fit. Nice large, clean bathroom and good air conditioning. Internet access is sporadic because the modem for the wireless connection is in an adjacent building and the thick stone walls interfere with the signals. We were invited to go into the other building to use the internet - not particularly convenient. The proprietress is not always available. There's a brass plaque beside the door with a phone number, but unless you have phone access, you need to find someone who can call for you (as we did in order to get into our room).
