Mike Ditka's - Owned by former Bears coach "Iron Mike" Ditka this restaurant serves American cuisine with inventive twists. The usual sports-bar trappings are here—football memorabilia and numerous flat-screen TVs tuned to ESPN—but Ditka's has a classy feel. Its dark woods, leather booths, and white-linen tables complement the menu of upscale fare and an extensive wine list. Upstairs, there is a table reserved for Iron Mike himself, who dines here several times a week. The restaurant is open daily. Dinner reservations recommended.

“Oldie but Goodie”
A comfortable, quiet hotel with excellent service.
“New Hotel in Chicago for all my trips”
The reviews on this Hotel had me somewaht nervous when I booked it but it was last minute and my options were limited. Thank God this was my only option for the price. This place was WONDERFUL. Clean, friendly staff, and most of all had great character. I thought I stepped back into the 1920's. If you want retro decor and all the 21st century stuff then go to the Ritz. If you want a different experience with a true Chicago feel then go here. You can not find a hotel like this in many other cities. I was out early and in late, so safety for my wife was important. This hotel is a half block walk to Michigan Avenue and is in one of the safest places in the whole city. Location is a huge plus. The only thing was the bed was not that comfortable but for all the other reasons we will stay here every time we go to Chicago without question. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this one.
“Review of Hotel Tremont of Chicago”
I find the Tremont to be a very good value. It is reasonably priced and beautifully located just steps from Michigan Ave (John Hancock and Water Tower Place). When in Chicago, I always book a room at the Tremont. It is a very comfortable hotel.
“Great Great location”
This quiet old charm Chicago landmark is very cool. The TV sat system was blocked by a high rise but will be solved this month. Still had local TV. It was fine and the hotel gave free movies to compensate. Connected to the Famous Ditka's restuarant with exellent food opens at 7am and the bonus of the coach who is there daily to talk and take pictures. Da Coach!! Half block towards the lake the Handcock bldg. Oak st Beach an easy walk. My god your on ther miracle mile. They have 3 suites in varied sizes at prices that the big boys get for a small room less than a block away. Starbucks in across the little street. Some say that no room service is a hassle. I say get out and go the many many close superb eating places for breakfast or a late snack. Hey this is Chicago. Be a part of the local scene. The original Pancake house ( very small and cool) 1 block away on YES !! Rush st where killer music abounds. 3 miles from Wicker park and all the cool boutique shops. I love this place and already booked my return. Nice staff Old charm. I say book it and save a fortune. Or stay at the pricey comon big hotels and feel like you might as well be anywhere. Hey ladies, buy a pair of Pradas everyday in money saved. LOL. Finally. Thank you Expedia for having this on your program. I would never had known.
“Loved the Hotel Very Cute & Cozy”
Loved the hotel very cute, the location was perfect! The attendants and desk help was awesome. They were very helpful and geniunely nice. The beds and pillows especially were very comfortable. The Restaurant was delcious and affordable. We would stay there again, but not in the winter! Too cold there.
“Nice room in a fantastic location”
We were in town for a leisurely weekend and received a great rate on this older yet still-classy motel. Motel was easy to get to and had a parking ramp right next to it which was convenient. The staff was incredibly nice and accomodating. The room was very clean and comfy and we had a great view. The location was the best...walking distance to the Pier, Michigan Avenue shopping and not that far to the brownstones on State street and to Lincoln Park.
“absolutely love it”
The accomodations were in a great part of Chicago--short walk from downtown and short walk from the lake shore. The hotel was small and quaint. Seemed like the rooms were full of antiques. I loved it.
“Wonderful Hotel”
I had a great time in Chicago and having an affordable but clean and comfortable hotel with a wonderful quality of service added to that. If ever I get a chance to go back to Chicago, for business or leisure, I will definitely go back to this hotel because it is also just a few steps to the Magnificent Mile.
“Excellent...for the price!”
Overall we had an excellent stay. We had a king non-smoking room for three nights. After reading previous reviews, I was expecting a small room. This was not the case! It was quite spacious! One of the two lights in the bathroom went out while we were out during our second day (it was working when we left). The housekeeper never fixed it...but we didn't call down to have it replaced either. And, the fan in bathroom rumbled something awful. However, everything was very clean and the staff was friendly! It is an older hotel, and for the price, we couldn't have asked for more! It was a cute hotel in a convenient location!
“Very nice hotel, perfect location!”
The hotel staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet. A very nice down town hotel, just two blocks from the Hancock building and Water Tower Place. I will stay there again.
