“Disappointed - won't go back”
Capo Mulini is a pretty, quiet fishing village with an interesting harbor and several great seafood restaurants. We stayed at Antica Conceria for 4 nights and were very unhappy with the hotel - it has a neglected feel. The only working telephone was at the front desk and the internet wasn't working either so communication with home was impossible. The room safe did not work. Security in the hotel was non-existent (a side door to the parking lot was open during the day so anyone could walk in). When we arrived, there were only hand towels in our room - we eventually found bath towels in a hallway closet. Breakfast was uninspiring (croissants, prosciutto and cheese slices) and the Cappuccino machine was broken. We've been to Sicily many times and breakfast is usually wonderful so this was a disappointment. The air conditioner was a large, noisy, free-standing unit that required draping a hose out of the patio door and took up a lot of space in the small room. Staff smoked in the lobby and during our stay we only found one person who spoke a little English. That was a problem when there was a power cut and we needed to know what was happening - the rooms are very dark and groping around without a flashlight was difficult! One evening I took a shower before dinner and there was no hot water (this hadn't been a problem at other times of day). We did have a good evening meal in the hotel restaurant, but overall we would not recommend this hotel - we will not stay here again.
