The nearest seaside resort to Barcelona, Castelldefels is linked to the city by regular train service. Its eight-kilometre long beach and inexpensive fish and paella restaurants are popular with locals and weekenders. Water sports are available off the beach and at the swish Port Ginesta marina. Twenty kilometres south is Sitges, one of Spains most characterful resorts with historical interest and a buzzing nightlife.
