“Relaxing and friendly”
We found the staff at the hotel to be very friendly and welcoming. Having a young child was no burden. In fact, they were very accommodating for couples and families. There is plenty of space at the resort which also provides a friendly and intimate environment which was ideal for rest and relaxation.
“Hope to return”
Without transport and being in our eighties it was just what we wanted-no shopping, buses available and tours, if wanted. though we had covered most tourist places over the years in that area. It was very restful for us
“Excellent value”
The "superior suite" was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary 20-minute internet access available in the lobby. The breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant was plentiful and an excellent value for an area in which food tends to be very expensive.
“Really good hotel”
We really enjoyed a couple of nights at the Novotel Rockford Palm Cove in January whilst travelling around northern queensland. The room was beautiful and there are some good facilities at the hotel. The only downside was that the main resort style pool turned into nursery time during January so as a couple without kids that wasnt great - but theres a nice beach just down the road. A few bars and some nice restuarants a short walk away and cairns a short drive. Hotel is also only a short drive from the tropical zoo. Worth a stay if you're visiting cairns and want some beach time. Ideally have a car.
“Good value”
Extremely friendly staff with a helpful attitude. Location 5 mins from beach, but walking in the night from beach restaurants was a bit uncomfortable. Clean and spacious rooms with all amenities in rooms.
“Pleasing”
We found some of the staff very helpful and friendly, your assistant manager Anna and resturant/ bar person Laura were lovely they were always pleased to see us and have time to chat about our day. I express concerns for the lack of linen and towels in our room and Anna responded immediately and sorted it out for me. Very impressive. We also felt that your designated smoking area was not in the best place at the front of the hotel especially for new arriving guests. Consideration should be given to a more appropriate area. I would like to stress my husband and I are both smokers.
“overpriced”
not a good look to find dead cane toad in bottom of pool at 2 pm first thing in morning understand , but not in afternoon .had to wait for bar staff to finish a conversation for service . whole place needs reno.Breakfast very good lots of young children ( school hol ) so obviously very popular with family orientated guests . overpriced for what it is
“Nothing special.”
We stayed 5 days: - Find underwear on one of bedroom draw when check-in - Room not fully clean every day. - Not suitable for couple - full of unsupervised kids - All facilities are charged. - We haven't really seen any staff around during our stay. Location is great, breakfast is good - walking distance to the beach ; 30 minutes drive to Cairns and Port Douglas
“Fun for the kids”
Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. It is within 10 mins walk to the beach and restaurants. The condition of the hotel was a little disappointing i think it is definitely in need of a refurb, however for amount I paid for my 9 night stay I really shouldn't complain! Also, this hotel is very much a family hotel- there is a crocodile slide at the pool that kids love however I wouldn't go there if I didn't have children.
“An Ok stay”
When we booked the Novotel, we expected a high level of standards. Location of the hotel is good. The Reception area of the hotel is inviting and modern. The room we had was ok. It looked cleaned and comfortable. Room is air conditioned which is great. Bathroom was rather disappointing. Paint was peeling from the walls and door. The mirror was wearing/rusting. The tile grout needed replacing. Cleaning of the rooms are done daily thankfully. Unfortunately, could hear furniture being dragged about from the room upstairs. Breakfast was good. Food from the V Bar was dreadful. We were served burnt pizza and burnt burger buns. Some menu items served was not what it said it was. Recommend eating at Palm Cove strip, Cairns or Port Douglas. Overall an OK stay. Would rate this hotel as 3 star or slightly below.
