“Fine modern hotel up a mountain.”
This hotel is up near the top of a mountain, several miles/km from the city center. It's about 10 years old, well-maintained, definately quiet because it's in the middle of the forest that covers the mountain. It is a business oriented hotel: competent, clean, everything works well, but not any historical character or charm. Most rooms are generous in size, but avoid the singles, which are too cramped. I was first assigned a single (I was travelling alone), but after I saw the room and went back to the lobby, the helpful desk clerk upon my request gave me a much larger and better room. The free WiFi in the rooms worked great and the signal was very strong. The dining room is fine in appearance, but dinner is expensive and not very imaginative, while the breakfast buffet is adequate: At breakfast, I saw only one single banana offered in the fruit basket along with the apples, tomatoes, and peppers, and no more were brought out while I watched, about an hour or so. There's lots of free parking, and the lobby has to be accessed by the elevator. Rooms are still further up. But I wouldn't stay at this hotel without a vehicle of my own, since there's no public transport (except taxis) within a very long walk up the mountain. There are a few signs from main roads at the bottom of the mountain pointing you toward the hotel, but look carefully: signs are small and placed only where really needed.
