“Excellent value for money”
The hotel is located right in the centre of Gumbet bay about half an hour from the airport. There are buses and taxis right at the hotel's doorstep so in terms of location it is great as well as staff friendliness and hotel cleanliness. If you're on a budget I recommend this hotel to anyone even if you have children. If yo are loojking for a very british holiday resort I recommend the area but if not, please do your homework before to avoid disappointment
“pleasently surprised”
We stayed in may 08 for 2 weeks, the weather was good, not too hot and the area wasnt too busy, great location, inbetween the main road and the beach, but without the noise if you were to stay on the beach as the music went on till late hours of the morinigs. everyone we meet was friendly and welcoming. the food wasnt amazing, but it was enjoyable, we had our meals brought out to us, there was only a buffet for salads. the room was cleaned daily, nice pool area, which we had mostly to oursleves for the first week, until more customers arrived. We left we very posistive and thought turkey was amazing.
“Adequate for a low budget hotel”
The hotel only replaces towels every three days and you can't take towels from the room to the swimming pool. Dinner is included with the room, but anything you drink is extra. WiFi internet connection is not reliable.
“Good location”
A great location..Just a few yards from the beach, past the taxi rank. The other way up the road is the night life and shops. The only draw back is the quality of the food. It is better to eat out. The food is left out in the open and the flies have first pick.
“It was ok”
The hotel is listed as four star, however this is misleading and I would rate it two star at best. Rooms are cleaned every day, however this just consists of the floor being mopped, the bed being made but the sheets weren't ever changed, and the bathroom was never cleaned, although the towels were replaced daily. However the room was basically nice, however it was desperately in need of some maintenance. The toilet seat had a massive crack in it, the flush was broken and often flushed continuously. when you used the shower cubicle it was clear it wasn't waterproofed as the bathroom floor became floored and towels had to be put down. We were on half board, and the food was nice, but not great. I didn't really bother with breakfast but it was a traditional turkish fare of ready made omlettes or boiled eggs, 2 types of cheese, ham and olives. they also have cereal, bread and jams and preserves. The dinners were nice but again not great. The pool was really nice and cleaned every day, and there were pleanty of seats by the pool. Other facilities include a pool table, 2 massive television screens and 2 computers with internet facilities. They also have a room set aside for saunas & massages etc however I didn't see anyone use this. all in all it is a nice hotel, but it is not as good as it's website makes out. However the staff are really friendly and helpful, and it is a 1 minute walk away from the beach.
“Good Location”
We stayed in the Serhan in October 2007. We were a group of 3 20 something girls. In terms of location, the hotel was great only 2 mins from the beach, close to Gumbet bars/restarants ect and opposite the taxi stand if you want to go further afield. We were staying half board which I wouldnt recommend as the food included wasnt good at all. (not sure what the food from the menu was like)We ended up eating out most nights. Rooms were cleaned daily although towels/linen had obviously been well used. Good as a cheap base but wouldnt go there if I went back to Gumbet.
“Stay in Bodrum”
This is Gumbet, not Bodrum - if you want to go to a very westernised / english experience this is for you - like the Ibiza of Turkey. I prefer to learn about a culture, a country and take in the atmosphere of being in a new country. You could hear music from local clubs till 3 or 4am in the morning every night. We changed room after one night, but this was a mistake. Luckily, we were a simple 20 min bus ride to Bodrum - much nicer and very easy to get to. Careful if you pick this
“fair”
The people very friendly and helpful. the food was very good. Mostly the hotel clean, the rooms where not as clean, inside window trims dirty, tops of doors dirty. Damp towels and smelly, only one sheet on the bed, damp covers. it was a cheap holiday and this would not stop me staying again only i would bring my own towels and sheet.
