“Wyoming experience in Beijing”
This hotel was very near the tourist attractions. Hailing a taxi did not pose any challenges. It was quiet for the most part. There was a time when some of the guests were noisy in the hallway. The hotel receptionist and others on staff were polite. They were eager to help when asked. The breakfast buffet, while very different from an American buffet, was satisfactory.I am not climitized to humidty and was unable to feel cool. The room was comfortable except I was uanble to feel relief from the humidity. The bathroom offered no bath tub. This fact did not have a negative affect on my comfort level. The room was serviced daily. The hotel was neat, clean and orderly. I liked the convenience of a small store in the hotel lobby because I could purchase my bottled water and take it to my room. Quite convenient. This was not a Hotel Marriot or Hilton. It was a quaint and quiet hotel . I would stay there again.
“Good for first time or if you know the area”
AKA:Beijing Hutong Crossroads Inn Very good hotel. Very clean rooms, good location, and friendly neighborhood. Not a lot of parking so better not bring a vehicle. The hotel is not very visible from the street so you/your taxi may have a hard time finding it. There is a restaurant in front that covers the hotel name and entrance. The Staff speaks limited English but everybody manages. There is a small store in the lobby that sells prepacked food, drinks, China Mobile Prepaid SIM cards, and other goodies. The hotel has one lift, wired Internet (no wifi), keycard (Y40 deposit), and regular CCTV broadcasts. Electric outlets in my room accept 3-pronged British style, 2-pronged U.S. style, and 2-pronged Euro. All was 220v. If your room comes with an AC then ask for the remote control at the lobby. There are two Internet stations in the lobby that are used by patrons. They run Windows Vista in Chinese. There are many snack shops in the surrounding area. Nearby attractions include Jishaling Park, Forbidden City, Behai/Houhai lakes, and the Drum Temple. If you are coming from the PEK airport you can take the subway. All bags are x-rayed for security. Airport Express Line to Line 2 to Line 5 and exit at Zhangzizhonglu (Line 5). Walk west on Dianamen/Zhangzizhonglu street. The hotel building is a gray colored and high enough so it's name can be seen from the street if you are walking and look closely.
“Can't wait to see their smiling faces again.”
For the price you pay the hotel was great. Especially the fact that internet was free. That was very helpful. The staff were the best. Very freindly and showed me which bus to take to the great wall which saved me so much money than taking a tour bus. They also showed me the best and cheapest way to the subway to get to the summer palace. resturaunts and bars just around the corner less than 5 min. walk. I can't wait to go back. Thank you for the most amazing experience of my life.
“inexpensive...served it's purpose”
rooms were a little small...but served it's purpose... the hotel staff was extremely friendly and accomodating
“Very nice and simple Hotel. No frills”
This Hotel was close to many small shops on a main street. There is a restaurant attached in the same courtyard, but not part of the Hotel itself. The bus line runs right in front of the Hotel. The subway station is about 15 minutes away in one direction. A main street where there are tons of restaurants, very lively, is about 15 minutes in the other direction. The bed is very hard, but after a long day of sightseeing, it doesn't really matter. I would recommend this hotel to younger travelers who enjoy walking around and seeing the sites.
“A perfect hotel on a budget”
I must say I wasn't sure what to expect after flying half way across the world. I knew already from the information I was sent that the hotel seemed to be in a good location, but it wasn't until after a few days that I realized that we were actually in a great location. There were so many things that we could just walk to, 10 minutes away was Bei Hai Park and the Drum and Bell towers. Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City were also only 20 minutes away, but the best was directly to the east of us was a popular Hutong (an alley) which was full of a lot of great businesses, restaurants, coffee shops and street vendors. Prices in the area were very inexpensive since we were not in a major tourist area. We would eat sometimes for only a few yuan. But the matter of fact it the hotel's breakfast was only 10 yuan for all you can eat breakfast, which included nothing but freshly made food. Dumplings, steamed celery, rice porridge, some other rolled dumpling, boiled eggs, soup and this amazing coffee which tasted like a different variety of espresso that what I was used to. I may even be forgetting some of the items. All the rooms were small, but had ample room, I mean we are in China. Full plumbing and shower and if we needed it there was a/c. Free internet (not wireless) and TV (if you want to watch Chinese TV). The staff were more than willing to go out of their way to help us on any occasion, and if they couldn't help us, they would immediately find someone who would.
“Conveniently located, cheap hotel”
This is a simple, low cost, centrally located hotel. Fast internet connection in the room. I was very satisfied with this accommodation.
“Good location for 1st timer visit BJ, a block distance to hutong. Can bike to Tiananmen esily.”
Very good location to visit hutong, imperial gardens, Tiananmen Square and Forbideen Palace. Easy access to local restraurants for BJ food, and Muslim cruisins. Hotel service was helpful and friendly.
“Budget hotel”
Great!
“For the money, $26 USD, its ok”
Like the bike rental on site, like most bikes there, not in tip top shape, chain feel off a couple of times, fortunately easy to fix. Tour agent on site convenient tho' not the best rate, however airport transfer 120 yuan is better than hailing a taxi for about 100 yuan for the transfer. A little convenient store on site is great. If you are looking for cheap, then this is the place
