“Top Class - Highly recommended”
This excellent little bed and breakfast Hotel has it all. Good location, reasonable prices, spotless rooms nicely decorated and a really good breakfast. However what makes hotels top class is always the attitude of the people running them. The family at the Johanneshof could not be more helpful and welcoming. Very highly recommended. You will not find better.
“Very relaxing”
We stayed here for a couple of nights from the 7th December and was impressed with the size of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel itself is only 20 mins from Salzburg and about 15 mins from Salzburg Airport and is surrounded on all sides by lovely snow capped mountains.
“A welcome relief!”
As there were no reviews on this hotel, and the only photos were mostly of the outside in summer (and we were due to stay for 4 nights in December) we were a little concerned as to what we'd find on arrival. Well, it was a more than welcome relief to be ushered in to a spacious, very well presented bedroom with spotless, modern en suite bathroom. There was also a kitchenette which, with a small toddler in tow was a useful addition on evenings when she'd had enough of being out and about.(I'm not sure whether this is a feature in every room though.) The proprietors were a very friendly and helpful couple who were more than happy to give any sightseeing and travel advice. They also went the extra mile to make our 2 year old daughter feel welcome and at home. The overall feel of the hotel was one of warmth and homeliness, without making you feel like you were "intruding" (as you sometimes do in B&B's) In addition, we enjoyed staying in a village outside, but not too far from (15 mins drive or so)Salzburg. It felt a bit less touristy somehow. We would certainly stay there again and I highly recommend it to all travellers.
“Salzburg is an excellent destination”
The Hotel is in between Salzburg and Berchesgaden . Nicely located with nice views of the Alps ( though not snow capped) . We came by train at night and hence found it little difficult to locate the hotel . It is about 15 mins walk from the rail station . The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful It takes around 50 mins to reach Salzburg by train and note that trains only run hourly . Berchesgaden is around 30 mins by train . I would definitely recommend this Hotel

Hotel is a little hidden on a dead end quiet side street; generously sized and clean rooms with TV area, couch and separate bathroom. Very nice breakfast buffet considering the small size of the hotel. Backyard/pool not as nicely kept as on photos but still fine for families with kids. Staff was very helpful to find local treasures.

Very pleasant staff, helpful, spoke english. Nice breakfast. Rooms were large with extra sitting area, our room had a nice view. In a nice residential area.
