“Fantastic & Beautiful”

Beautiful location, Out of central Ubud, far enough away to have space, peace & quite, time to relax but also close enough to markets & shops etc. Stayed in Shiva room which was amazing, stunning views & sunsets. Staff are very helpful & go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Hired a scooter to get around but free shuttle runs to Ubud. Really great place to just sit back & take it all in. Will definitely go back.

“Highlight of our honeymoon”

A private, relaxing hideaway in a tranquil setting. The most beautiful gardens, statues and ponds, lots of great local village style cooking, good friendly service

“Home away from home”

With only 7 rooms, it feels like coming home. The staff are extremely friendly, the surroundings are beautiful. Distance to Ubud is 20 minutes, but there is a shuttle service 7 x a day, and at the end of the day, I enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of busy Ubud. Everything is very well organized, meals can be enjoyed at a restaurant situated 1 minute away (by car) or else the meals are brought to Villa Sarna. Enjoyed an organized bike trip, mostly downhill, through villages and rice fields. All in all, I would definitely return, it was super!

“Best place to stay in Bali for tranquility”

Wonderful staff, beautiful location, gorgeous gardens and pool, wonderful lounge, very peaceful and pleasant. I love this hotel! Plus, they have a dog!

“We will go back”

Ideal for us, relaxation was what we came for, helpful staff, good location away from busy streets and noise. Great gardens and view across valley. Nice shuttle into Ubud via different routes so you saw more of the country side and small villages.

“Home away from home in Ubud”

Villa Sarna is nestled among beautiful gardens ten kilometres from Ubud. The villas have gorgeous views out over the palm trees to the hillside beyond. The rooms were large, well appointed, clean & comfortable. Beds & linens were high quality. Delicious breakfasts were served on the balcony. The pool terrace was a great place to relax. Service was excellent with staff there to make your stay very special. Regular shuttle vehicles take guests in to town. A very good restaurant across the valley will deliver lunch & dinner. A birthday cake, complete with candles, was presented to me by smiling staff. The owner took very special care to make our stay most enjoyable. Villa Sarna is a home away from home.

Area recommendations
The market in Ubud is a great place to buy silk scarves & sarongs, pashmina scarves, spices & fragrant oils. The monkey forest is a quiet reserve with many monkeys - great for photos. There are some fantastic restaurants in town & plenty of spas to choose from.

“Great place to stay, but 20 minutes outside of Ubud”

We loved this hotel and can't wait to go back. It is important to note that although the hotel is located 20 minutes outside the city center this should not be a major issue. The hotel offers free pick up and drop off every other hour (last pick up is at 9:30PM which is much later then some other resorts in the area. The staff and hotel grounds are great. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra day......And the hotel restuarant is great and with affordable room service. I feel that anyone who books this hotel should book their tranportation prior to arriving since it's not on a major road.

“Super Hotel, Super Staff”

Villa Sarna is a superb hotel. The hotel itself is pleasant and beautiful, but it is the staff that gives it heart. Sarah, Rai, Made, Ketut made us feel at home and truly did their best to make our stay wonderful. Use Made as a tour guide if needed. He is great. Only drawback is that the hotel is not in Ubud itself, but the hotel provides free transportation so that works well. We highly recommend Villa Sarna.

Area recommendations
Stay in Ubud most of the time (great small town, lots of crafts shops, nice restaurants, jungle, monkey forest, elephants and great little stores). If possible, stay a few knights in Kuta (large city, partying, clothes shopping, beaches and restaurants).
