“Can't recommend highly enough”
Position - excellent. Just off the centre and within walking distance of most areas. Amstel is clean, smart and quiet, yet you are a few minutes walk of the centre, the markets, the parks, museums and so on. Room - The Skinny Bridge Studio was a fabulous and great value facility for a family of four. Typically Dutch - modern, well laid out and different. Beds very comfortable, room very clean, great wetroom/bathroom, and the small balcony would be great in the summer (bit chilly for us) Staff and facilities - again, faultless. So helpful and friendly, breakfast is very continental and very varied. The hotel has no lift - so if you're a bit wobbly on your pegs then you may struggle, certainly will in the top floor studio. It's a super hotel for those wanting a base from where to explore the districts, galleries, museums of the city, but in a smart, tranquil neighbourhood. If you want all the glitz, tack and tastelessness of the normal city centre then it's probably not for you!
“brilliant location, basic and clean accomadation”
the location is truly fantastic, 2-3 blocks from the skinny bridge, and in a very quiet neighborhood. the hotel itself is fairly basic, and not particularly updated (e.g. no flat screen television, no alarm clocks in the rooms, only one computer in the lounge). however, the hotel staff is particularly friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean and provides breakfast in the am.
