“Dont stay at this place - nevermind the price”

Awful, simply awful. Keep as far away from this place as possible.

Area recommendations

Keep to the hotels in the bussiness area. This place is the worst. Don't even bother about the price, free is still expensive.

“worth what i paid for ..”

well to be frank the place surpassed my expectations .. being one of the more cheaper hotels available here i expected very little location: google and bing give two different locations for the hotel however i called the hotel the night before and as told it was behind reef mall .. the place was easier to find than expected although i printed the location map .. .. when you step outside onto the main road or walk near the reef mall you can easily hail a cab off the road or for the longer journeys the metro was just around the corner ... convenient location Dining: i stayed B&B and wasn't a very big fan of the buffet .. twas very basic . well cant expect much for the price you pay .. however plenty places arnd to eat including inside the mall .. no tea / coffee in the room :( Room : clean and well maintained .. decent bed, linen, good furniture .. hot / cold water bath tub .. commode could have been placed in a better place though .. view from my room wasnt that great as it was next to an abandoned bldg .. you have to pay for internet .. Neighborhood: towards the main road unlike the residential area is well lit up and busy .. crowne plaza and movenpick hotel walking distance hve pubs n restaurants .. Staff and service : neat and courteous if required tours can be booked from the hotel .. overall cant compare to a 5 star but worth what you pay for .. a decent budget hotel .. i stayed 2 nights and overall was a pleasant experience ..

Outdoors or beach

if you r a tourist and want to see what dubai has to offer best is to get a tour on the "big bus" .. decent price ( its discounted if you buy on expedia) covers all major tourist locations .. you can hop on and off the bus anytym .. best to plan out in advance what you really want to see and spend time so you manage to cover all the spots during the day .. i booked the ticket online and within a day managed to see almost all the hotspots. if you plan to see the burj khalifa best you purchase timed tickets online in advance as tickets at the gate for immediate entry are quite expensive and mostly sold out ..

“Dream Palace a Pleasant dream”

Very nice little hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Away from all the hoopla of Dubai, it is located in Deira you can walk to Reef Mall, have breakfast, shop, lunch. Several Iranian, Arabic and Filipino restaurants across the street. The metro station is just a few minutes walk away. Very convenient. Don't bother if you want a pool. It's on the rough, it's very dirty and everything is falling apart. Go see it if you want to have a laugh but don't bring your bathing suit.

Area recommendations

This is a good part of Old Dubai and you can explore the surroundings driving around with a GPS. Many specialty shops that you won't finf around the newer part of Dubai and a lot of diversity.

“Cheap and Adequate”

The Dream Palace Hotel is obviously a rather old property. It has issues with the air conditioning. All electrical devices, including the air conditioning, turn off when the key card is removed from the master switch.

“Great location- but a rating of 3.9 was disappointing.”

The location of the hotel is great. Near the airport, City Center Mall and there is much to see in the neighborhood. The hotel is a living hotel- people live there. We were a little disappointed but the room was good for sleeping, not relaxing.

“dont do it”

small small small room and molded bathroom, had to ask for towels and toilet paper SEVERAL times, buffet food so so, cigarette smoke smell fills the air, charges for local calls, cheap but spend a little more money for better service and accommodations. would not stay more than two nights.
