We arrived at 9am on our first day and was shown immediately to our room, which was an unexpected surprise given that the checkin time was 2pm. The Reception staff made us very welcome from the start, offering some helpful hints for our stay and organising transfers, and even a complimentary late checkout. You know how you're often disappointed after arriving at a venue that you've booked online? This is NOT one of those venues! What a spectacular location. Very well located on the main street between the inlet and the beach. Generous size rooms and an outside balcony overlooking some greenery. Laundry facilities are not in the room but they are free and accessible. The car park is very tight and would not suit a large car but overall a great place to stay in Port Douglas, and reception staff we’re very friendly

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days with comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 27°C. The humidity is much lower than in the wet season, making outdoor activities and exploring the region's natural beauty far more enjoyable. This period is ideal for experiencing the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.
For those looking to explore the Great Barrier Reef, the dry season offers the calmest seas and best visibility for snorkelling and diving. The ocean temperatures are pleasant, and you're less likely to encounter marine stingers, though stinger suits are often provided year-round for peace of mind.
If your primary interest is the Daintree Rainforest, the dry season is also preferable. The walking trails are generally dry and accessible, and the wildlife is often more active. You'll avoid the heavy rainfall that can make some areas muddy or less accessible during the wet season.
