A good overall experience. Wish they had more flexibility to be able to make calls out of the area from the lobby. Other than that, everything else was great!

"Heart shocking hotel, amazing in his views"
i had the best time in this hotel, really nice staff, the room is amazing, and the food is delicious. However, the restaurants aren't so efficient, takes a long time to sit and sometimes the food is late. Don't count on the staff to speak English with you

"Courteous staff, good food, great value"
Our first trip to Cancun and enjoyed our stay at the resort. The seafood was terrific and the staff was pleasant and courteous. If you are from NY or DC area and are accustomed to good restaurants you won't be disappointed with MB, great service and overall atmosphere. The only complaint were a couple of the other guests on our first day at the resort , a bit too boisterous but fortunately it settled down and we were able to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. Overall rating given the cost is near a 5.

    Where to stay in Cancun?

Cancún, on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, has been a famous holiday destination since the 1970s. Beautiful beaches, lush rainforest, ancient Mayan ruins, and exciting activities will make Cancún a holiday of a lifetime for you. Explore the towering pyramids of Chichen Itza, swim in the crystal clear waterfalls of a cenote sinkhole, or visit the turtle sanctuary on a relaxing day on Isla Mujeres. If you need an adrenaline kick after relaxing at the beach, soar over the sparkling water with a jetpack, scuba dive at the MUSA underwater museum, or rush down the longest zip line in Latin America at Cancún Adventure. Quiet or active, there are plenty of other pursuits for you in Cancún.

    Where to stay

Most Cancún hotels and resorts are located in the Hotel Zone on Cancún Island and have direct beach access. All-inclusive resorts are especially popular. Playa Mujeres and Isla Mujeres are quieter and also great places to find resort-style accommodation. Comfortable motels can be found in downtown Cancún and near the airport.

    Best travelling time

Cancún is warm all year round but has high rainfall in September and October. Between December and April the weather is near perfect, but the crowds are heavier, as it is high season. Avoid spring break between mid-March and early April, when US school-leavers crowd the city in a round-the-clock party.

Ancient Mayan Cancun has more than left its mark on the modern incarnation of the city - most obviously in the form of Chichen Itza, the cultural center of Cancun. The Kukulkan Pyramid forms a striking figurehead, standing at a height of over 75 feet as part of the ancient mysterious city. It's also worth spending some time at the archaeological site so that you can experience the less obvious points of attraction, such as the Cenotes (sinkholes), an ideal setting for a solid day's freshwater swimming.

    Interact with nature

Enjoy views of the Cancun jungles with some horseback riding --it's the freest way to explore the matchless destination of Cancun, a truly different taste of the Mexican way of life. And why not swim with dolphins? You can be a part of their aquatic world, and experience their serenity and benevolence face-to-face. And if that's still not enough then why not visit Xcaret, an ancient Mayan village which now comprises an underground river, aquarium, and aviary? It's a truly unique experience - an otherworldly paradise.

If thinking outside the box is your thing, spend some time in Tulum; set atop a cliff overlooking the Caribbean, Tulum is home to Xel-Ha, the world's largest natural aquarium. Tulum's structures date back more than seven centuries, and the 40-foot high El Castillo pyramid is the aesthetic focus.

    Regional specialities

Downtown Cancun gives a taste of the local way of life with a plethora of regional specialities ready and waiting. Be it indigenous cuisine, live music, or local handicrafts you're after, it's all there; it's a taste of the true Mexicana to contrast with the Americanized city center.

Accommodation can mainly be found in the famous Zone Hotelera, an area shaped like a '7' featuring bridges connecting to the mainland. Rough beaches envelop the vertical side of the '7', while the horizontal end provides a tropical paradise for surfers and sun-seekers alike. The 14-mile beach stretch is where the city comes alive at night; the vast selection of bars and clubs means there is bound to be one to suit your taste. The area undertakes the great feat of transforming itself from the world's second largest coral reef during the daytime to a lively party city at night. Hide
