"I can’t give the hotel any stars because we didn’t get to stay there. We waited 15 years to return here after our honeymoon in 2011 and upon check in we were told we were receiving a “complimentary upgrade” to the Majestic Mirage. We had to fight to get the same upgraded room we paid for at the Elegance at the Mirage and it caused our check in process to take 1.5 hours. I can only recommend the mirage where the staff was amazing! Freddy at the steakhouse and our amazing butler Edith were what really made our stay at the Mirage wonderful! Beware that we were told if we refused the upgrade we couldn’t have the room we booked because they were full. "

"Exquisitely clean grounds, pools, beaches, etc. Seaside restaurant food was a bit overcooked. Steakhouse was incredibly awesome ! Bartenders were friendly and excellent mixers. Butler was on spot with everything. Everything about this resort was top notch except housecleaning, mostly issues with restocking. One towel a day, ran out of toilet paper…perplexing. Sky view rooftop was cool, but seldom used it, I mean it’s definitely private, and you can do ‘private’ things up there, but very hot during day. In hindsight I would have chosen a swim up room. "

"The room needs total update shower was noisy and outdated the sleeper sofa was wet and smelly they need more different meat than beef and pork the riu party was good but they need more balance of English music for the foreigners but the cleaning staff was awesome especially alba Acosta all and all was a decent stay"

"Our first time in Dominican Republic and Riu did not disappoint. Their entertainment and activities throughout the day is very enjoyable. Staff are amazing and welcoming! Food is average, tho it seems to be the same most days its not bad at all. Pools and beach is one of the best we’ve had. Will definitely come back and recommend to anyone specially if first timers not bad for a good price. :) "

"The venue is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is spectacular. Food is wonderful. I have been to this resort five times in eight years. It’s hard not to go back when it is lovely and you feel very safe. However. The service each time has went down and this time to such a degree that it does not make up for all of the beauty of the place. Yes. Some staff were very nice. But the majority pay more attention to their colleagues than the vacationers. Waited an hour and a half for ice because there are no ice machines and then being told you can get yourself at one of the restaurants. I always upgrade to reserve for the butler. Really all he does is make your reservations for your meals. You can call ahead one week prior and do that yourself. They use to do all kinds of small things and reserve your lounge chairs. Put small snacks in your room before your dinner to snack on while getting ready with your favorite drink. There seven days. He did it twice with no drinks.
