My only problem was the odor in the elevator but besides that the staff were amazing, the rooms were cleaned daily, the food was great, the amenities and entertainment kept us all in great spirits

The overall resort has everything you could need close to the beach and the pools were very clean the entire week,… it just needs to be updated. The beds were terribly hard and made it hard to get a good night sleep.

The property was very big and open.. it was nice and clean.. with few minor details of not having water for a full day.. also for the last 3 days the pool with the bar did not have high water level nor was the water filtering as it should have been.. if you want to eat at the Steak Restaurant u would need to make a reservation at 6pm on the dot as they will not take in walk in even though there are empty tables available.. I would suggest be there by 5:30pm as there will be a long line..

Beautiful resort, fun activities, great staff. On our first day our room didn’t seem prepared for us, or maybe it was not used in a while. The room had a funky smell, but it was clean. We soon noticed the smell traveled through out the hotel, dining rooms and gift shop (was the worst). I chalked it up that the resort farts, terrible sewage system. It was hard to focus for the first two days. However, day two our room was cleaned and smelled better or maybe I just got used to the stinch. All of my new clothes I didn’t wear had to be washed went I got home because the scent was buried in my clothes. Apart from the resort farts, Riu Republica is a great spot for adult entertainment and fun.

We had to switch rooms because the room that we had wasn’t the one we booked, and the room did not smell or felt clean. After we switched rooms it looked better and clean. The staff was amazing at Riu but the food was horrible it was the same meal served everyday. Overall I would rate my stay 6/10, the staff was amazing, but the food and rooms could’ve been better.

So first things first, my original room was not ideal. There was mold by the air vents, AC doesn't work too well and the walls, bedsheets and smell of the room wasn't what I hoped for. Luckily I was able to change my room to a far better one with great views. The staff was really accommodating with that. Now, Riu Republica is in fact a party resort, there is a lot to do, to keep you active. Plenty of drinks to go around and trust me, those drinks will creep on you before you know it. The staff were okay, but some of them looked really annoyed if you ask them for something. The restaurants were pretty bland, but I found Kulinarium to be one of the better ones. Their breakfast and the jerk chicken spot were also top teir in terms of quick free food. We also had a night where there was no water for a couple of hours and everyone had to use bottled water to shower, flush toilets and whatnot. Overall, despite their flaws, It is still a fun resort to be at. Just know that you sort of get what you paid for since it is a cheaper option.

The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. Palm trees and sculpted grass. Unfortunately there was some things that made me give this rating. Washcloths were not delivered until the second day of my stay. I don’t expect good food at any Riu but I can normally eat enough to survive. The food was below average. Uncooked rice, who can’t cook rice! No brand name rum or vodka ( no Bacardi, Tito’s, absolute). Wasted drinking for me. Couldn’t even get a buzz. The icing on the cake was 8 hours without water!!!! While this could have happened anywhere, the previously stated issues made it feel like the last straw. Management did not communicate about the water situation and I almost got trampled on trying to get the water that they were giving out. I would return for a complimentary trip. I certainly wouldn’t pay again. The pools were amazing.

The hotel was clean and well-kept overall, with a friendly and helpful staff. I felt incredibly safe thanks to visible security throughout the resort. I loved that the property offered different atmospheres—there was an energetic pool area with great music for celebrating, and a quieter pool area for a relaxing, calm escape. My favorite meals were at the Italian restaurant and the steak house. I would recommend this resort because the beach is absolutely beautiful and it’s affordable for someone on a budget like myself.
