Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas - Adults Only- All Inclusive

"Nice Hotel, but Disappointing Overall Experience Overall, our stay was nice, but several things need improvement. The rooms are outdated, and the Wi-Fi was terrible, constantly disconnecting. The hotel is very strict about who enters, yet that same attention doesn’t seem to apply to guest behavior and safety. The ocean water was also brown and unclear due to the recent hurricane and rain. I understand this is beyond the hotel’s control, but it’s worth mentioning. What disappointed us most was an altercation on our last day with a guest who felt entitled to reserve beach chairs for hours without using them. He even claimed this was basically “his hotel” and that he could reserve whatever he wanted. These amenities should be available to all guests, regardless of which tower they’re staying in. Worse, he made threatening gestures toward my brother and me. We reported this to staff, who promised to address it, but from what we observed, nothing was done. The hotel needs clearer rules about reserving chairs and better enforcement. No guest should feel entitled to shared spaces or intimidate others. Although we met some kind people, the overall atmosphere wasn’t welcoming. We came to enjoy a family vacation but left disappointed, especially by the lack of staff intervention. I hope management takes guest safety and feedback more seriously."

"This is a great place for a family vacation. This venue has large grand spaces, great pool access and the food was amazing, especially the Italian cuisine and lunch options. It is well located from the airport. I would have liked a larger beach but the best part is that it is walking distance to the ferry where you can take it to Isla Mujeres and enjoy clear crystal beaches and then head back to the hotel. Super convenient."

It's next to Coco Bongo and other nightclubs within walking distance, but thankfully there is no noise from being so close to them. "Reasons for 4 stars. Preferred guest-had to request daily that my mini bar be restocked with water. Went to Portofino and had horrible service-waiter forgot my drink. Never offered additional drinks. Left dirty plates on table and never offered dessert. On positive note-Issac poolside waitstaff was amazing. The bartenders were also great. Would stay here again but expect better service ."
