"Beautiful island and a great hotel location. Everything is walkable, but it’s still worth renting a golf cart to explore more of the island. Definitely pay extra for the all-inclusive option — even if you plan to spend time off the hotel grounds, it’s worth it. There aren’t many clubs in the area, but there are plenty of restaurants, and a few play music late into the night. The hotel is adults-only. The staff are kind, and most are bilingual. Be sure to book your transportation in advance — from the airport to the ferry and then to the hotel. You’ll save a lot of money that way. Also, have some cash on hand; you won’t regret it. We stayed in a standard room with a balcony facing the street. It’s noisy during the day and quieter at night, but once you fully close the windows, it’s not an issue at all. You’ll sleep comfortably. The beds are big and comfortable, there’s decent closet and storage space, a safe for passports and valuables, yes you will have hot water , and yes room service checks in twice a day. Overall, I would definitely recommend it."

"The beach and the staff take all the credit. Everyone is very friendly and eager to help. Javi at the buffet breakfast was fantastic, and also Jerry. Roberto at the Cevicheria makes you feel at home and he is very polite and prompt to serve you and the guys at the bar are all great! "

"Almare was a great first experience into an all inclusive and adults only resort. We really enjoyed Edgar, and Cara from beachside service. Claudia was beachside and pool side, she went above and beyond and she remembered our names from day 1!! <3 Resort was only about 60% capacity so it felt like we had the resort to ourselves. It was so relaxing and quiet- just what we wanted!! Joseph and Rafael from the bar were really awesome, too. They educated us on drinks and different tequilas they had to offer. I can't say enough how great the service was and how attentive they were. Nothing is perfect and we did get forgotten about our first night, but we got in really late and ordered room service at 1am. We called an hour later and was told they never had an order in. Also our shower head handle also fell off at one point and we asked for them to repair it and there was some miscommunication there, too. But it all got handled and fixed and they were sincerely apologetic. We are laid back and this wasn't a deal breaker for us. Anytime we needed a taxi, the front desk would call and a taxi would be there within minutes. They would ask if we needed a towel or water. Very accommodating. The food at the two main restaurants were outstanding. We ate on the rooftop two nights and downstairs two nights. The food was great! Mediterranean style and the pizza at Seasalt was FAB. We ordered ceviche, guac, and shrimp tacos when on the beach and I think I ate it 4x. 😋 The beach was very clean"
