"The hotel was very nice. The staff was helpful. The pool and beach front were great. Easy walking distance from food, bars, shopping. "

"We were very disappointed with this property. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room that had clearly not been properly cleaned. There were fresh, sticky stains that appeared to be from spilled beverages, the floors were dirty, and the drapes were both stained and torn. When we raised the issue, we were initially told that no other rooms were available. However, after my wife pointed out that rooms were still being advertised as available on Expedia, we were moved to a different room. Unfortunately, the second room was in similar condition, with dirty floors and overall poor cleanliness. Both rooms were in need of significant renovation. Door frames and fixtures showed noticeable rust, and the furniture—particularly the couches—was heavily stained and showed considerable wear and age. The beach area was fully covered with seaweed and made no use of it. We drove to the main town to make use of the beach. We made the best of our stay, but based on our experience, we would not recommend this property to others."

"BAHIA Choc Chi stay was just okay for the hotel conditions. The floors were quite dirty, we had to ask to have the floors cleaned several time. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The towels were very old and very few to be had. On the other hand, the location was excellent, the A/C was excellent and the staff were friendly. "

"While the location is absolutely beautiful and the resort has great potential, there are several areas that require significant improvement. Communication from the concierge team could be more proactive and responsive, especially when addressing ongoing issues during a guest’s stay. The property itself is in need of updates and renovations. The pool, for example, was noticeably dirty with an unpleasant odor, and the wooden seating within the pool is deteriorating and chipping, which poses both a comfort and safety concern. During our stay, the water service was shut off 4 out of 5 days, which created major inconvenience. Additionally, our bathroom was not functioning properly and would not flush, leaving us in unsanitary conditions for several days. The lack of warm water further added to the discomfort. While the service at the restaurants and bars was excellent and truly appreciated, the beach area was often left unmaintained, with seaweed accumulating and not being cleared until guests began cleaning it themselves. I would strongly recommend that management implement routine walkthroughs of all common areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest satisfaction. This property is in a stunning location and has so much potential. I would love to return in the future once improvements have been made."
