“Hotel should only be used as a novelty.”

No amenities. No Internet. Basic of cable only, (not basic cable but barely television), No pay channels, can not order movies, no ESPN or Fox News. Tiny room for the price & the shared bathrooms/showers are not between two rooms (Shared between the hole floor). The elevator was barely large enough to fit one person and one suitcase if you could get the door to not keep shutting on you. Should be a hostel not a hotel.

“Great city!”

“Simple, clean”

Apparently, a good deal for NYC. 1 room, shared bathroom. Everything clean. Quiet. Free Wi-Fi. Exactly what I needed and could afford.

“Meh”

Great location, crappy room, but then this is midtown Manhattan - I doubt there's much better at this price. It's basically a cubby hole room, worthy of a cramped Comfort Inn in Milwaukee only three times the price. And worst of all, most of the rooms don't even have a bathroom, so you need to go down the hall to have a sprinkle. Please... Also, while I'm whining, the TV's are rubbish, you only get like five channels or something. If you want to save some money, stay in midtown and just need a place to crash, this will see you right. Great location, right on the 6 Subway, and the people at the front desk are helpful and friendly. Also, a fantastic little sushi place right next door. Small, authentic, excellent.

“best location and best price in NYC”

we paid great price for 8 night in tjis hotel. the location is excellent - close to subway line 6 which we used daily. the rooms were cleaned every day and the shared bathroom was spotless all through the day. the rooms are small and this is by no means a new hotel - bur for tourist who used the place just for sleep and shopping storage - who could ask for anything more?!

“Manhatten on the cheap”

This hotel is very quaint. The room was fine though very small. The only thing really missing is in room showers. I would stay there again.

“Perfect Quaint Hotel”

The Hotel 31 is adorable! Small, old, but clean. There are no amenities, but if you're looking for a place to sleep that's safe and clean, this is the place!

Bagel Cafe on 3rd and 30th street had a great breakfast! Delicious bagels and coffee!

“The main thing to do in this hotel is sleep.”

Since the main thing you are going to do in this room is sleep, it would be nice to have a comfy bed and a good pillow. Bed is very firm with no pillow top. Pillows are uncomfortably thick. Bring your own.

“Cant wait to go back to NY”

The hotel staff were very helpful in directing us and arranging transportation for us. The location of the hotel waS convenient to shopping.

Area recommendations
This hotel is convenient (walking distances) to Broadway, Times Sq, Bryant Pk and Central Park. I especially enjoyed the fabric stores.

“Will Stay Again”

This hotel was just perfect. Could not beat the location. Arrived on train at Penn Station easy walk to hotel. First time I stayed in a hotel with the bathroom down the hall but was no inconvenience at all. Bathroom always spotless and available. Room was spotless too. Front desk helpful. I will definatley stay here on my next visit. Can't beat the price.

Definately go to Vezzo's on corner. Delicious food great price.
