It was relatively quiet… we put on white noise to help us sleep. Valet only. They’re pretty quick &, very friendly. Overall an expensive hotel where you’re paying to be downtown "

"Very convenient for public transport. A short walk from Central Railway station and an even shorter walk (~50metres) to Haymarket Light rail station. Reception staff are friendly and very helpful. We arrived early to ask about leaving our luggage, and our room was already available. We were embarking on a cruise ship at Circular Quay mid afternoon and the hotel reception offered to hold our luggage so that we could sight see around Sydney during the morning. Even offered to staple our cruise tags to our luggage and gave us plastic bags to cover our luggage whilst were we getting on the cruise. Had one meal in the hotel dining room and it was very good. We highly recommend the Great Southern Hotel."

"The closeness to Darling Harbour is one of the best things about this hotel. The variety of food for breakfast was amazing! They are a little short staffef, especially during busy checkin periods."

"Staff were incredibly helpful even though they were obviously tested at times by irate customers. It was when the Iran war started and naturally customers were uncertain regarding future plans. Staff handled it well I observed. Restaurant nice and food very good. Laundries were under some pressure. The luggage and concierge were helpful. We would stay again"

"Central train station across is nice. Staff are awesome. Clean facilites. Quiet place other than people coming in and out of the room makes for a lot of click and door slams. No outside noise and no partying. Ear plugs help with all the coming and going. I realize it is a dorm. Bathroom is clean. "
