"The hotel has a great location. Opposite to the pleasure beach. The hotel was cleaned to a reasonable standard. However it looked tired and there was evidence of dust. There is no lift and no air con so if it gets warm they do provide fans. The bed was comfy and linen was to a high standard. The chiming of the church can be difficult to deal with especially in the early hours. It is very well price and certain value for money. I would certainly recommend."

"The Hotel was good and served a purpose for 1 night before a flight. The bedroom door closer needed replacing as very stiff and difficult to close the door. We chose to eat in the on-site returant because if the good reviews. This was a poor decision . We dined quite early about 6.00pm and my wife ordered the Tikka Markani only to be told there wasn't any. She then ordered the blackened fish when this was served it had no seasoning, upon querying this we were told they were out of seasoning, pretty poor really. The staff in the restaurant also did not seem to have any charisma and it was a poor experience. Would stop in the hotel again but not dine in the restaurant."

"Overall a wonderful stay. The hotel is really clean and well appointed, with some amazing views if you're on the river side of the building. It's ideally located for a short walk into Newcastle, close to the train station and metro too so easy to get to all sorts of places locally. We found the restaurant a little bit overpriced for the quality of the food. For example, the cheese board was £14.50 but it contained far too much, with a huge bunch of grapes and large portions of three different cheeses. I'd rather have paid less for less as it was just far too big a portion. The spa facilities are lovely, but the hot tub is tiny and only really fits 2 so you did have to time your visits to less busy times."
