    Accommodation in France

France is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world with good reason. This European getaway nation has it all—style, history, charm, beauty, castles, beaches, ski resorts nestled on snow-capped mountains, and lots of sumptuous croissants and vino. Whether you want to take in the fresh air of the French Rivera, sip down a glass of red wine in Bordeaux, or kiss your special someone at the top of the Eiffel Tower, your trip to France will be utterly unforgettable.

    When to Visit France

The best time to visit France will depend on where you plan to spend most of your time. Paris enjoys mild summers and temperate winters, but the weather grows rather chilly along the German border, especially in the mountainous regions in winter. Of course, if you are looking to take a ski holiday in the French Alps, then winter if the perfect season. The off season in France tends to be November through March. The benefit of travelling during this time is that the attractions will be less crowded, and you are more likely to find cheap flights to France.

What to See & Do in France

No trip to France is complete without at least a couple of days spent in beautiful, cosmopolitan Paris. Get your bucket list out and start checking things off, such as seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, gazing at the city from the Eiffel Tower, and visiting the imposing Notre Dame. Sip coffee at a street-side café, and pay your respects at the Arc de Triomphe.

Of course, France is much more than just Paris. Rental cars in France invite you to drive to gorgeous Versailles; take a tour in Bordeaux, the city of wine; drift down a canal in Bourges; or wander among Roman ruins in Lyon. If you still have time left, explore the French countryside, where you’ll stumble upon enchanting, medieval villages.

We know you’re on the hunt for cheap deals on hotels in France, and you’ve come to the right place. At Expedia.com.au, we provide you with affordable France accommodation, flights, and more, so you can focus more on practicing your French and less on your finances.

Most people who come to France have a strong desire to visit the romantic city of Paris. Along with being France’s capital city, Paris is also one of the world’s leading metropolises. Culture and history can be further explored by visiting places like the Louvre and La Conciergerie. The tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte sits on display inside the famous complex known as Les Invalides. Notre-Dame Cathedral is one of the city’s most distinguishable sites and gives visitors the opportunity to climb to the top of its famous bell tower. Of course, no visit to Paris would be complete without going to the observation decks of the Eiffel Tower. France hotel packages offer exceptional prices on many of the city’s finest accommodations.

The Palace of Versailles, which is located just south of Paris, once served as the residence for Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Ornate décor and antique furnishings still adorn the interior of each section of the palace. Beautiful gardens and green spaces surround the entire complex. Some of the best hotels in France are also located near the palace.

Some of the world’s finest wines come from the Bordeaux region. This special region is situated along France’s Atlantic coastline near the Spanish border and is another top tourist destination. Expansive vineyards are prevalent throughout this picturesque region. It is also possible to find discount rates on hotel rooms in this area.

Tourists can find the breathtaking French Riviera located in the south of France along the country’s Mediterranean coastline. The cities of Nice, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez often attract the rich and famous. Many of the region’s luxury hotel rooms feature a full set of amenities and are also ideal places to see some of the most beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding countryside. Tourists who would like to take advantage of a cheap France hotel deal can venture slightly inland to the historic villages of Grimaud, Belvédère, and Grasse.

Expedia offers cheap hotel deals in France to visitors who would like to explore this wondrous nation. Tourists can book reservations ahead of time to get the best France hotel deals.

    "Would recommend"
If flying into CDG then you're looking at at least an €80 taxi fare, 2 hour train and bus trip or a €78 return for 2 adults using the Disney Magic coach transfer (also about 1 hour journey but also the cheapest and time efficient). The hotel is spot on. Only minor niggles where the lack of UK TV channels, the buffet is a bit overpriced for what is on offer at almost €30 per head not including drinks but the Disney village is a 5-10min free shuttle bus every 10 mins from the hotel entrance where there's a selection of places to eat so that's not really a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful, could not fault them at all really. There was no 'do not disturb' or 'make up this room' signs available for the room so despite only staying for 4 nights, we had our bedding changed every day which seemed a bit wasteful. The train station located at the Disney village allows a direct train into Paris for €15 Euro pp return. The journey takes about 40-45mins but a taxi will also set you back at least €80 Euro. When using the train, be warey of beggars using translation cards handing them out on there. Make sure you give the card back when he comes back around, giving money is your own preference. At the stations on a lot of platforms you will see a fair few homeless people sleeping but none tend to bother you, they just sleep. Overall the hotel was spot on and location to be able to access Disney and Paris are easy from this hotel. Would definitely recommend and return.

"Nice hotel walking distance to the Louvre"
The staff at the Castille were fantastic. Very friendly on check in and helpful through the stay. They have a nice seating area in the lobby and the staff, noticing that my mother was quite tired from our journey, brought her fresh/cold water and told us not to rush during check in. There's a friendly cat that hangs around the lobby. Nice touch but make sure you bring antihistamines if you are allergic. It was impossible not to pet her. One issue they had was the bathroom sink. I noticed it was leaking considerably. It would be impossible to miss (I had to throw a towel down after washing my hands)... So either the cleaning staff weren't cleaning the sink? Or the previous occupants of the room somehow didn't notice? Anyway, I called the front counter and a maintenance person arrived within five minutes and fixed it right away. Good service. I stayed only one night but thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was impeccably clean and well appointed. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good but a bit expensive. I also found the hotel staff were a bit hesitant to suggest good restaurants in the area for breakfast instead saying we should stay at the hotel to eat the buffet which was very expensive.

    "Relaxing in Paris"
Paris is our favorite place in the world. I know that some people complain about the rudeness of the French, but, frankly, we never met those people. The ones we met were kind and helpful. We try to go a couple of times a year....at least. We enjoy the people but most of all the food.....and the wine! Viva La the wine. Doesn't get much better. We've done the museums so we don't have to include them any more. Likewise the hot spots with naked women and much dancing, not that we're apposed to naked women. One recent trip we took a bus tour around the city. It had been years since we did that and we found this tour very useful. It showed some places we had forgotten about. We do recommend this informative and relatively inexpensive way to get your bearings on visiting a new or different city. There are so many places to eat with great food; can't get a really bad meal in Paris and the hotel can recommend plenty to choose from. Paris is particularly charming at Christmas time. There are so many decorations. The streets are teeming with happy shoppers, Christmas trees, and wonderful decorations. Try the Christmas markets for a truly wonderful experience. Take the children; they will be charmed by the decorative, festive atmosphere everywhere.

    "Great Location, Decent Hotel"
The hotel is in a great location however the hotel itself needs major upgrades. This hotel is more around a 3 star hotel but with high room rates. We paid for an ocean view/city view and instead we got a view of an old building that was being remodeled. For this type of view I might as well have gotten the standard room with no view. I asked if it was possible to move rooms and immediately I was told no as they claimed they were fully booked which I highly doubt. The carpet in the hallways looked old and dirty and the bed was hard as a rock. One night we came back to our room and our key didn't work so we went to the lobby and they told us they thought we had checked out into another room. When we got our key reactivated we entered our room and saw a welcome letter with a water bottle addressed to someone else. Weird? I am a starwood member but I am definitely not a fan of the Le Meridien.
