"Staff were superb, Hotel is undergoing renovations and the Imperial Hotel next door is having a major refit so the noise at times was loud. On second floor which has just been refurbished, so room was new and clean, facilities a bit lacking, no min bar nor safe, which I regard as essentials at a Hotel in this price range in London. Bar and restaurant were good but no ability to charge to room, again something I would expect. Great breakfast did finish the stay off nicely"

"A fabulous stay in a Club Double (recommended room choice) in one of the most beautiful Edwardian hotels in London. Two tube stops, Kensington Gardens and Palace, and restaurants galore -- all just steps away. The staff is superb, especially Xavier Gomes, the new manager; Manuela and Carmen, the two Romanian sisters who run the excellent breakfast buffet; Maureen at the front desk -- and many others. I've been staying in the Grand Royale for over a decade and love it!"

"We stayed one night before a 9am Eurostar. The room was quiet and relaxing with comfortable beds and a well designed bathroom. Storage was good and electrical points everywhere. The hotel bars and restaurants were exemplary and wonderful places to hang out. Breakfast was spectacular and it was a joy to be able to leave the hotel almost directly to Eurostar check in. "We liked our stay at the hotel. The morning and afternoon staff were friendly. I do wish however that it would have been possible to get clean towels in the early evening. There was residual noise from the other patrons on the floor, which was somewhat annoying at night time. The room was clean which was good. I do wish there would have been a way to contact the front desk as there was no phone for that in the room. There are a lot of restaurants near by which is nice. "
