The best time to go to Sagano is during the cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and the autumn foliage season (mid-November to early December).During these periods, Sagano's natural beauty is at its peak. The iconic Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is stunning all year round, but the surrounding temples and gardens, such as Tenryu-ji Temple and Okochi Sanso Villa, are particularly picturesque with the vibrant colours of spring or autumn. These times offer exceptional photo opportunities and a memorable experience. For those who prefer a quieter visit, late autumn (after the peak foliage) or early spring (before the cherry blossoms) can also be excellent. The weather is generally pleasant, and you'll find fewer crowds while still enjoying the natural beauty.
