"Very beautiful place with an amazing full time staff! We were not aware upon booking the resort wasnt fully open but the rooms are exactly as pictured... STUNNING I hate my husband couldn't fully utilize the resort so that felt like a waste of money. The train/busses were not properly scheduled so unfortunately we missed our dinner reservations after waiting 30 minutes for it never to show up. Our last night we were told to walk by one driver because he didn't want to drop us at our stop. I was floored by the disrespect and moreover having to walk in pitch black to our room which took about 12 minutes."

"The hotel, grounds, and pools were beautifully maintained. The ocean view room was amazing. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Minimal wait times for drinks and to be seated at restaurants for dinner. Food was very good with many choices. Would definitely recommend!"

"2nd time staying at Ocean Maya Royale. First was 2024 and most recently May 2026. Both stays exceeded my expectations. We arrived around 11am, while we were unable to check in until 3pm, we still had access to the resorts amenities such as the restaurants, bars, pool, beach etc Once we checked in- the room was clean, they accommodated our request for 2 beds and near the pool. The room was nicely decorated with roses and an animal pillow + other amenities ( we checked in via the Privilege room & received these perks ). The fridge was stocked with 4 bottled waters, 2 local canned beers, Pepsi, Orange Fanta & Diet Pepsi. There was a safe in the closet, 2 chairs + a table on the balcony. An umbrella was conveniently in the closet & plenty of storage space. The beach was filled with seaweed and the red flag was up- definitely was not able yo swim this trip to Playa Del Carmen. However - the staff made up for this with service. Everyone was excellent and helpful. The food at the buffet and the A La Carte restaurants were even better than my first visit. Except at Yakasoo- the Japanese restaurant- food was good however as I was enjoying it, so was a fly. This was the only thing that soiled that experience. Staff was notified. Activities included - a nighttime foam party at the pool, sip & paint class, facial massage class, water aerobics etc Special thanks to the lobby bar bartenders- Eduardo & crew! Pool bar bartender- Miguel and crew!the activities team! Gustavo & Lupe"
