"Myself and my teenage daughter were visiting london for a few days and chose this hotel for price and location - it was excellent. With 2 tube stations within a very short distance and a well appointed highstreet on the doorstep. Also an everyman cinema around the corner and kensington gardens really close. "There was no help when I arrived. The staff was all confused and not welcoming given the hotel had lost electricity and they were managing removing people from rooms. As new guests arrived they were not immediately communicating the electrical issues. Guests had to find their own alternative accommodations."

"I have arrived in many properties in the last few years to find that I have been assigned the noisiest room on the floor, presumably because I used a broker to book since some overworked front desk person shared their strategy with me once, but this took the cake. I raised my eyebrows when we were directed to “lower ground”. When we exited the lift it was a well lit, nicely carpeted and painted warren of narrow hallways cluttered with cleaning carts. Room had great paint job, plenty of storage but the bed was slotted so narrowly that there was no room for beside table to set a beverage on. It faced a lovely double window that had a control panel completely obstructing the view. This morning we were awakened by furniture or carts being moved around in the breakfast space above. I know that London real estate is precious. Even still, I would argue this should not be a guest room."

"Booked 2 rooms for June 2026. At check in, one allocated room was on the 4th floor and the other was on the lower ground floor. We were told that the hotel was full and if we wanted to change rooms the manager would be in tomorrow. We found this comment rather strange. The room on the 4th floor was OK. The room on the lower ground was quite possibly the worst hotel room we have seen in over 30 years of travelling. The room had no window, and appeared to actually be in the basement. We turned straight around and went back to reception to express our disappointment and surprise at being allocated this room. To be fair to the reception staff, another room on the 4th floor was allocated to us immediately. This was OK. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Nearby Queensway Road has loads of places to eat and there are several Tube stations on the doorstep. Hyde park is over the way. Overall the reception staff were pleasant and helpful enough. However, there seems to be a lack of attention to detail to the customer experience from management - across the two rooms we had 1 x broken TV remote, 1 x missing TV remote, a badly leaking kettle, missing sink plug, lots of litter on the balcony outside the window of one of the rooms, shoddy bathroom maintenance. It’s also the first time we have stayed in a hotel room without either a door peep-hole or a door safety catch or chain. For these reasons, unfortunately, we can only give the overall experience 2 stars."
