"I never leave reviews but minus the location I’d never stay again. Let’s get the good out the way. Staffs amazing. Beyond friendly. Room was large with the double king set up. Location to universal is great. 5 min walk to the shuttle, then up the hill to universal. Staff said, why pay for parking twice. Price seemed ok, but it will lead Into the bad. The bad. I know they claim to be a work in process but there are a few items that just broke it for me. The king bed mattresses were damaged. I about rolled off the bed every night. It must have been the cheapest mattress available and it outlived its life by months considering the number of people it probably sees. The pillows were just bags of feathers. Extremely uncomfortable. Lastly, the utmost deal breaker was the bathroom. Shower worked fine but the exhaust vents must have been for show. Literally everything in the bathroom was soaked by the time I got out of the shower (under 10 min). You can look at the walls and see water damage that’s been repainted so they knew this was an ongoing issue. The paper thin shower curtain that was 3” too short allowed water to drench the entire bathroom floor. Since 4 people were using it, this because quite an issue resolved by barricading multiple sets of towels. For a few more bucks and possibly a longer walk I could have found somewhere else. Again, extremely polite and maybe this will all be addressed after the remodel but I won’t be back any time soon."

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Clarita - Valencia

2/10 Terrible

"Unfortunately - 1) the shower curtain rod was broken and did not allow the curtain to cover the side allowing the water to splash out into the floor of the restroom. 2) the handle to shut the water off was loose and required a significant amount of force to shut the water. Even after attempting to shut it off, the water still dripped significantly. 3) the all above the mirror inside the restroom needed paint and you could visibly see the paint underneath that didn’t match. 4) the carpet in the bedroom was moist and there was a smell of dampness throughout the room. The real unfortunate is that we arrived late in the evening and didn’t have the energy to voice this out. We checked out as soon as we could. We chose to stay at La Quinta because we have had such a great experience at the one in San Diego. This changed our desire to continue with La Quinta"

Glendale Express Hotel Los Angeles

2/10 Terrible

"We checked in to find out that the toilet backs up in to the bathtub. The manager said, "it happens all the time". House keeping came up to clean the tub, and she confirmed that it's an ongoing problem. We then decided that this is a huge health hazard. We told the front desk that we would be checking out and wanted a refund. We had to find other accommodations. Disgusting and a serious health issue for the guests. Will not reserve this hotel ever again."

Coast Burbank Hotel

8/10 Good

"Really nice hotel to stay in and so close to Universal Studios ( very convenient location). The room was very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a coffee, cappuccino and a hot chocolate machine located in the lobby area. Also a Bevi water machine with electrolytes, zinc, vitamins and choice of sparkling water. Definitely a game changer not having to look for Starbucks in the morning. The parking is currently $25 a night. Several reasons I am giving a 4 Star this time and not 5. The restaurant was under renovation during my stay and I was not informed in advanced. When I arrived that evening the carpets and furniture were being cleaned. Everything was still wet and getting dry and I could only sit on the bed until the next day .Fans were running all around the property until late. Once again I was not informed of that inconvenience, but knowing that it's clean made me feel good and safe. In the next morning when I walked out, the windows on the outside were getting cleaned as well. The coffee machine was out of order as well, but by that evening it was fixed. I asked for a wake up call and instead of them calling the room, they called my phone. I got that missed call later, since it was blocked as a unknown caller .The cleaning staff (girls) did an excellent job every day in my room. It was spotless. Big shout out for Scott at the front desk who is very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and polite. I would definitely return. Just need heads up"

Glendale Hotel

6/10 Okay

"this is a remote check in facility. there is no actual front desk but rather a video screen with a person somewhere remote with whom you check in and check out. very little information shared about how this hotel operates ( room cleaning , room repairs) there is not enough signage in the rooms or in the lobby to inform you how to ask for things ( cleaning, room service etc) and how to operate tvs, room air etc. the place smells dank. the fixtures are working but need improvements ( shower heads and diverters). lots of hallway and parking lot noise in the rooms."
