Most cities have a neighbourhood called “Little Italy”. But San Francisco’s Little Italy is actually called North Beach.
If you’ve got a hankering for linguine with clam sauce, North Beach is your paradise. It’s also the historic centre of the beatnik subculture, so before you go for dinner at one of the phenomenal Italian joints nearby, check out the Beat Museum. There’s also Coit Tower, Pier 39 and Aquarium of the Bay to explore. But again, you come here for the Italian food. Anything you order at Da Flora or Il Casaro is life-changing.
