This is the most amazing little hotel we ever stayed at and we do travel a lot. Our superior room was big compared to the average Japanese hotel room and the bathroom was very modern. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful - special thanks to the chef who realised that we did not really eat much of our Japanese breakfast and made us a more European style breakfast the next day with coffee!!! We did not expect this so “arigato”

We loved this place. So beautiful, clean and spacious. Our apartment was a great size for our family of four. The hotel is small so not too many people and breakfast had some nice selections of food. It is about a 3 min walk to a train station and only 10 mins to Nishiki Market. There is a 7/11 and Family mart within 3 mins from the hotel for anything you need. Recommend this. If we come back to Kyoto we will definitely stay hear again.

Awesome place and location! Although, it w

The room was really nice. Very spacious and beautifully designed. Our room appeared to be one of two rooms overlooking a car park but that didn’t bother us. It was a bonus to be able to log in to Netflix at the end of long days touring and making use of the hotel’s happy hour between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. There’s easy access to their garden. We didn’t eat at their restaurant and the breakfast option did seem a bit pricey. All staff were very friendly and professional. We would definitely stay...

Great place to stay

Wonderful hotel who take pride in the little details. Loved the Lounge area access and Meditation rooms. Very relaxing stay in the city of Kyoto.

Absolutely beautiful hotel , the service is great , there is a beautiful onsen and a delicious free snack bar . The hotel has a.well equipped gym and several laundry machines , it is not.very central but it is not far away either from the main attractions , plus there js a subway station only few meters away . Highly recommended it

Beautiful property, well-located next to subway and short walk to downtown and Gion. Rooms decent size and very comfortable beds. Staff lovely. Overall great stay.

A stunning intimate boutique hotel. Exceptional customer service. Large comfortable classy room. Beautiful Onsen. Very elegant and stylish design. Peaceful.

The hotel was fantastic! Perfect location

It was quiet away from the main streets and convenient with the subway at the doorsteps.

Great location. Modern hotel. Nice lounge with drinks for guests tasty Japanese breakfast tray.

What a gem this place is. The staff are amazing and helpful. It has everything you could wish for and the location is superb. It is central to shopping, dining and transport.

It was a great experience staying at the Hotel Ethnography with the helpful staff who spoke excellent English. The room was very spacious for Japanese standard. The hotel is also very close to the Gion Shijo station which is central to all eateries and shops.

This hotel is amazing! Not only clean and quiet and very modern but perfectly positioned close to all of the metro / train stations and hundreds of dinings options. The main road is great and bustling but also take the time to drop back one or two streets and explore the more traditional stores and eateries, it’s like a different city! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto!

We loved our time here. It was really accessible to a subway and there were heaps of things to do within walking distance. We’d happily stay here again!
