This was our 2nd time staying at the Celestine Kyoto Gion. I really enjoyed the breakfast (though it can get busy, there is a lot of variety and the food was delicious). Service was friendly. Clean comfortable atmosphere. Enjoyed the holiday entertainment. Great location.

Our second stay at the Celestine and was just as amazing as our first stay in 2023. They staff was amazing in setting up dining reservations in some of our favorite spots in Kyoto. The breakfast team deserves a raise for all the hard work they put into an awesome, and tranquil dining experience. The onsite spa is the perfect way to rest and relax after walking through multiple cities or towns. They truly understand their guests and what it takes for them to have a magical and tranquil experience.

Fabulous hotel with a wonderful onsen and the best part is the extremely helpful concierge staff! I had questions before we arrived and they emailed with me many times back and forth to give me a lot of helpful information- it really took the stress out of some of our planning before arrival, especially since we were there over the New Year holiday (so many places were closed ). They made some wonderful restaurant recommendations and set up the reservations for us. We also really enjoyed the restaurant in the hotel. Great location, too. Our room had many amenities and a drawer full of items in case you forgot anything. I felt the room was quite spacious for Japanese standards. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Kyoto.

Loved everything about this hotel…from the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed and valued. The room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards. I would also highly recommend the location - we LOVED the street we were on, in that it was near the hustle and bustle but also very quiet and picturesque. My only critiques would be 1) the concierges were not very knowledgeable and we were left to do a lot of our own research; 2) in my opinion, a hotel of this rating/size should have even a modest fitness center.

A perfectly located hotel to tour Kyoto. They have a shuttle to and from Kyoto station. Easy access to many shrines and temples. Walkable to the main shopping areas.

Amazing stay! We booked 2 rooms for ourselves and adult kids and the stay was wonderful. From the perfect service, to the great walkable location, we would highly recommend. The breakfast upgrade is a must do. 5 stars for sure!!

Its a good location and the rooms was well appointed. The highlight of the stay was the local tour provided by the concierge. Super interesting and he was really knowledgeable. There a few things of no huge concern that we didn't care for - the bar was tiny and the staff generally we not very flexible in our requests. The public onsen facility if good.

Hotel was absolutely beautiful. Very serene and lovely, was exactly what we were looking for on a vacation to Kyoto. Staff was super helpful, spoke English well. It was nice to return to the hotel after long, hot days of touring in the summer.
