Thala Beach Nature Reserve

"Extraordinary experience. Magnificently sited with amazing views. Our cottage in the rainforest was super and the reception area, bar & restaurant were closeby and also exceeded expectations. The beach was beautiful, the grotto-like pool refreshing, and loved watching the wildlife throughout the property. Enjoyed the coconut program w jeff and the nature walk w Dave. Loved the observatory area, not only to look at the southern sky by night, but also wallabies by day. Thala nature preserve is the most extraordinary place I’ve ever stayed. Wish we’d had another few days there."

"This property is spacious and nicely located along the 4 Mile Beach, but it is not easily walkable to the town nor any restaurants nearby. The facilities/pools seemed like they could use a deep cleaning although our room seemed to be updated and clean. The restaurants on site are quite good."

"Outstanding in every way. Welcoming, clean, spacious, light-filled accommodation (we stayed in one of the one-bedroom villas). Super-comfortable bed; great shower. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Stunning tropical grounds. Easy 10-minute walk to Four Mile Beach and the Barrier Reef Tavern (try the smoked crocodile croquettes). We hired a car so it was only a quick trip in to town. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful hosts, clearly committed to fulfilling the best experience for guests. Thank you; we’d love to come back one day."

"After some initial problems getting in and a few little issues, I have to say the management company was incredibly responsive and friendly. Everything was resolved. The house was utterly perfect for us as we were two families. There is a completely separate area for the three bedrooms with the master and ensuite on the other side of the lounge. The house is in a fantastic residential area. Yes it was a bit of a pain the fact that we had to drive into Port Douglas but it's only 10 minutes and there are lots of things nearby in walking distance including the wildlife park and a little further away a great cafe and the IGA is again just 10 minutes walk away. The neighbours are so friendly and it's a lovely area for just enjoying some peace outside of the hustle and bustle of Port Douglas. We would definitely return."

"We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom Villa. It was perfect for our family of 7. Hotel staff was wonderful. Great looking property and fabulous pool area. Location is less than ten minutes from central Port Douglas. Access to the beach. We will definitely return for a longer stay!"
