This was a great place to stay, clean and tidy, located across the road from a great kids park and beach. The only downside and it was a big one, was our A/C did not work well, and as a result we all had a terrible nights sleep. It kept turning itself off and wouldn't even work properly while it was on. We would have kept the glass sliding door open but unfortunately the lock wasn't very secure and I was worried our three year old could escape. I would definitely stay here again but would first...

Excellent Hotel, spotless room with comfortable beds. The extra little touches make it special like the elephant made from towels with sunglasses for my daughter

Superb venue, lovely clean, modern and well appointed rooms. Very friendly operators, recommended good places to eat and see. Free wifi, breakfast included in room rate, absolutely faultless.
Simple little touches, like a little wave from the operator as you drive in and out make for a great experience.

The experience was great. We had a large room with five beds so more people could have stayed with us comfortably. Cheap price but great value. Thank you.

We had 2 young children with us so having that extra single bed in the room was great.
The parking was good had extra room to fully open the doors on the car without having to squeeze beside the other cars.
The rooms were nicely renovated with an old country stone charm.
The in room Neptune’s Seafood was amazing recommend the Chicken Malibu Sauce dish!

the pool wish it was heated so the kids could go for a swim. But overall definitely making this our hotel to...

Amazing service. Very clean and tidy room. Hannah is amazing. Nothing was ever a problem. We ordered room service for dinner. Wonderful, generous meals which were very delicious. Kids loved the pool. Access to the beach was very close too. Lovely park not far as well for the kids. We will recommend to all we know. Thanks for amazing service.

We needed a room for the night at short notice to accommodate wife, self daughter and granddaughter.
Booked through Wotif, arrived and found motel offered everything we could ask for.
Have worked a lot overseas, so know the difference between value for money.
We only stayed 1 night, but definitely got value for money.
Will seek to stay again, if we need revisit Mackay.

The best area to stay in Meadowlands is the Waterfront District, particularly around Marina Boulevard and Harbour Esplanade.
This area is Meadowlands' main visitor hub, offering modern accommodation with excellent views of the Coral Sea. It's very walkable, with a promenade stretching along the water, connecting a variety of restaurants, cafes, and boutique shops. The Meadowlands Aquatic Centre and the Reef Discovery Museum are also located here.
Couples often find the Waterfront District ideal for a relaxing and convenient break. You're right on the doorstep of several fine dining establishments, many offering outdoor seating with ocean vistas. The evening strolls along the illuminated promenade are particularly pleasant.
For families, the northern end of the Waterfront District, closer to the Meadowlands Esplanade Lagoon, is an excellent choice. This part of the district provides easy access to the lagoon's swimming areas and nearby parklands, which often host family-friendly activities.
When is the best time to go to Meadowlands?
The best time to go to Meadowlands is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.
During these months, you'll experience clear skies, lower humidity, and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20-30°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty, such as the numerous walking tracks in the nearby rainforests and enjoying the beaches without the intensity of the wet season's heat and rain.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this period superb for enjoying outdoor dining experiences or a leisurely boat trip along the coast. The calm weather is also excellent for visiting the local markets and open-air events that are more frequent during this time.
Families will appreciate the comfortable conditions for activities like swimming, snorkelling, or visiting wildlife parks, as the cooler temperatures make outdoor adventures much more pleasant for children.
