"Great place"

"We liked the clean room and the great view of the pier and the ocean. The staff was awesome and super helpful. Wi-Fi is good throughout the hotel, and it provides beach amenities (surfboards and longboards, bicycles, chairs, umbrellas, games, and more). They have a really nice gym and a rock-climbing wall that we didn't use (wish we had), and we're not sure whether there's a pool. We purchased a breakfast package with our stay. The food was good but a bit pricey, and portions were small. I didn't understand why they charged for coffee or tea when it was free in the lobby (20 ft from the restaurant). Also, glad we bought the breakfast package because there is only one coffee shop open in the neighborhood (especially for early birds). If you are a cyclist, please bring your bike and join the penlone to ride with others. The hotel is on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and is literally about 30 ft from the door. My biggest regret is that I didn't bring my bike to join the penlone groups (I won't make this mistake twice), and we should have brought our pet. We recommend this hotel and will definitely be back."

"The large balcony my wife and I sat on from our room was very relaxing with a great ocean view. "

"I made a huge mistake when I booked this room. Walking into a bare bones lobby with a plate-glass window between me and the hotel staff was the first clue. Speaking into the little metal grate and sliding my credit card underneath a slot was the second clue. Spotting the security cameras checking the hotel common areas was the third. A beer can was lying in a flowerbed area close to my room. A turned over shopping card was right outside my window. The room inside appeared to be clean, but I felt extremely uneasy and turned around and left."

"My husband and I have stayed here every April for Several years now and it’s a nice place with great views in a good area. Nice and clean. Will be back next year."

"This place is a dump, the carpets were nasty with stains anywhere you walked by. The furniture was dilapidated and looked like it was the same from 30 years ago with cigarette burn marks. The bed had large indentations on both sides of the bed and felt like I was sinking the whole night. Do not bother with the “breakfast” offering as it was old stale muffins and granola bars with coffee. I booked this room for a business training and I regretted the minute I walked in and saw the interior of this place. Staff was very friendly, nice and attentive but even their best efforts couldn’t make up with all this place is lacking. "
