"Good location, parking was available although we had to pay for it. The double beds were on the small size, bedroom furniture looked quite old, and the mattresses were a bit soft for us. Easy self check in process and quiet rooms."
"Property was immaculate and everything you would need for a stay.
We were on the ground floor at the back however there was a generator at the back of our room on the wall outside that was on all night quite loud so found it difficult to sleep. "

"The Hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, to look at the hotel is gracefully even though it is a large building, there are a number of entrances weather your there to stay or even to watch the football!! We stayed and ate in the bar the food was served hot and delicious.
But for me what stood out most was the staff, nothing was a problem for them and everyone was polite, friendly and respectful. In all a very positive experience and will certainly return to the Great North Hotel "
"Great location within 15 min walking distance of train and bus station. The Junior suite was perfect for us - king size bed plus a comfortable sofa bed. I loved the fact that the sofa bed area was separated from main bedroom by a sliding door for privacy. Room equipped with microwave, small hob, fridge, kettle & toaster and enough cutlery, crockery etc for 3 people.
Situated on the edge of Chinatown theres lots of Asian dining options - Japanese, Thai, Cantonese etc. A huge selection of bars to choose from in the area.
Great location for shopping too as it’s only a short walk to Eldon Square shopping mall inc Fenwicks, John Lewis, Sephora etc and Grainger market.
If you’re a football fan the hotel is across the road from St James Park. The hotel bar caters for fans too - matches are screened on every wall - even at breakfast time.
We would definitely stay again.

"Beautiful hotel with a modern twist. Perfect location and amenities. Staff were so helpful and friendly.
Would highly recommend and would definitely be staying again in the very near future x"
"Beautiful hotel, not sure how it’s classed as a 3* on Expedia when it’s by far the nicest hotel in Newcastle. The rooms are a great size, clean and cosy and you can tell the hotel has thought of the “little things” that set it apart from a generic Hilton esque experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Will be back soon :) "
