"Hotel location was good, a short walk away from the train station & there is a free CAT bus to Perth Station. Nice restaurant at the hotel but unfortunately miss the 2 days that we wanted to eat. Some nice places to eat near the hotel but just be careful in the night as there are a no. of clubs/bars around the area. We almost got hit by a glass bottle thrown down by a killer litter after dinner. Hotel parking is just too expensive. However, there are carparks nearby as well."

"The breakfast was fantastic, tea at night average. Bar was good $8 pints Hann Super Dry 3.5, no Happy Hour due to RAC Arena having an event they said, not sure why that has anything to do with it. We had a room 2nd level facing arena, pretty noisy, good price though for room including breakfast."

"I stayed for work, wanting to be near the train station to commute to Crown for a convention and attend meetings in the CBD and UWA precinct. Alex Hotel had been recommended by friends, and this was indeed a good location, clean with helpful and very friendly staff. I had been put off previously by the room rates, but it was low season and there was a discount through Expedia this time. However this is not for a business traveller and certainly not a place that I feel like I would stay if I was on holiday (except for maybe one night en route to somewhere else). Room was very basic (no chair, desk), iron/ironing boards were shared for each floor, complimentary tea/coffee was available but on Level 1. I understand breakfast at a home is expensive, but this seemed steep. In all, these things I can live with. The major issue was the noise. I understand that this is in Northbridge and I know what this place is about (I had a uni job at The Deen nightclub nearby). Bass from Universal Bar persisted well after midnight. The clubs are not going anywhere, but I did expect noise-proofing, and not having to rely on complimentary ear plugs. I had a "Slumber" room, and I am fairly certain the noise was not disclosed as an issue. I don't think I can justify the room rate, even with the discount. Stay here if you're keen for a big night out with your mates, but its not exactly a romantic getaway or suitable as a place to base yourself for extended business trips."
