Excellent hotel, location was walking distance to Union Square. Nice large clean room with good coffee, tea and fridge. Friendly helpful staff. Water bottles and free refills at reception were great. The gym is new, huge, fully equiped and better than real clubs. Target supermarket nearby. Immediate area was safe but avoid going past 4th street.

Staff are welcoming and helpful. The location is convenient to public transportation, there is a BART station just steps away. The hotel is within walking distance to Union Square, the Ferry Building, or for a stroll along the promenade with a view of the water. Guests of the hotel can enjoy 10% discount from the restaurants in the Embarcadero complex. One not to miss is the excellent Harborview Chinese restaurant. What a fab stay! Close to everything by foot and Uber, bed was like a cloud, staff and breakfast excellent. Will be back!!!

Excellent stay at this property, very conveniently located near LGBT centre, Castro. Served by multiple bus, streetcar and train lines within walking distance. Air conditioning was welcome though perhaps not working the best. Area felt safer than other parts of SF. You will have to dodge the homeless but this is symptomatic of all of SF unfortunately. This was our second stay at the Orchard Garden Hotel and we will be back. The standard rooms are very quiet, spacious, relaxing, with coffee maker, fridge and aircon. Great sleep every night! Everything is of high quality and comfort, beds, linen, toiletries, service. Location is very central, right next to Chinatown and only few mins walk from eateries and public transport. We never felt unsafe in the surrounding area. Really, what more do you need for a nice, relaxing holiday?

Great location, beautiful hotel

Stayed here with our family of 5 in a suite. It was like a house rather than a Hotel, in fact it was a period house the hotel had joined on the back. Loads of room, and although we have to cycle through the one bathroom it was worth it. Full kitchen and utensils and nice period furniture. Was clean and was not musty at all which was pretty surprising. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and there is handy unloading area out front, and parking for $34 a day over the road. Would stay here again.

Fantastic location near Union Square. An easy walk to Embarcadero and Oriole Park. Plus a very short walk from Powell BART station. Rooms and beds are large and modern. Staff were super friendly and accommodating - even gave us a free early check-in after we arrived very tired from Australia. Would definitely stay here again. Great option for families or groups requiring 2 large beds.
