If car parking is essential, this hotel is the only one you want to stay. Forget the rest in Melbourne CBD. For those parking is not essential, I would suggest look for others especially for ladies. I don’t understand why there is no power point next to mirror for hair dryer or straightener. When there is only one mirror in the room. “If this is not important to you, this hotel is good”

This lovely historic Hotel is being well maintained and was spotlessly clean. The staff were warm and friendly and in my view, our stay was very good value for money.

We stayed at the Executive Suite on the ninth floor. The room was roomy and comfortable. Well-appointed and tastefully decorated. We paid a similar amount to what 5-star hotels were quoting for their entry-level rooms in Melbourne CBD at the same period, so it was excellent value. If I need to pick on something, it would be very minor things: one of the two couches in the sitting room was not comfortable for longer sitting, and the shower (in the oversize, functional bathroom) could do with a shelf for a toothbrush or a soap. Minor issues indeed. We will stay there again.
