"I booked a 5 day stay at the RIU Tequila after having spent the 3 weeks previous elsewhere. We arrived several hours before the stated check in time. We were greeted by very friendly front desk staff. They provided welcome drink during the early check in process. Although our room wasn’t ready(which I fully expected) we were given our bracelets and informed we could use any of the facilities while we waited. We didn’t have to check back, they sent us an email an hour before the posted check in time informing us our room was ready. A porter took our bags to our room. The room was close to the restaurants and main building which we had requested. It was spacious and clean. The property does not appear at all run down or outdated. The main dining room and the other specialty restaurants are open and bright. They serve a very good variety of food. The shuttle to the beach is great. All of the staff from the dining room to the maid service were consistently friendly and helpful. This resort provides an overwhelming choice of activities, shows, bars, and dining options. I would highly recommend this resort and will definitely be returning."
