"Incredible stay! Right on the water. Was able to listen to the waves all night long with the doors open while feeling completely safe. Dan was so kind and informative. He was even willing to help with car problems at 6am so that I could make my flight. The location is perfect if you want a quiet spot away from all the tourist traps while staying in a friendly, safe, and welcoming community. Will be my go to spot when I come back. "

"The house accommodates 10 people, you do have some stairs and the wrap around deck is where we spent all our time. At the Big Island everywhere is a drive to get to, so plan accordingly. The home is clean and stocked with all kitchen and bathroom necessities including beach towels, coolers, for picnics, and beach toys! Host is available in person or by text at anytime to answer questions or concerns. Enjoy a relaxing vacation with Ocean views in Hawaii."

"This cottage was perfect for us. Secluded, with everything we needed. Epic sunsets! We actually liked climbing the stairs since we weren't getting as much exercise as usual. The outdoor kitchen is well-stocked and we appreciated the seating areas outside. Everything was clean and comfortable. The furnishings are simple and tasteful, matching the whole feel of the cottage. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. A shout out to the property manager who was responsive and informative and did an exceptional job ensuring everything was super clean. If you like nature and serenity, this should be high on your list. As other reviewers (and the property description) make clear, it is not for everyone. "

"Sitting on the moon at the edge of the ocean. Breathtaking is putting it mildly. Spectacular 100%. Enchanting to say the least. There really aren’t enough wonderful things to say about Hale Kai. The location, the stunning views, the only sounds you hear are the waves crashing on the shore, it’s absolutely awe-inspiring. The house is fantastic, open, and airy, yet cozy and inviting. The owner has a wealth of knowledge about the area and some hidden gems to go check out if you’re interested. You won’t be disappointed. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. We hope to come back again and again. Having to leave was the hardest part of our trip. A truly amazing experience. Thank you for sharing Hale Kai with us."

The home is clean and so well cared for - the kitchen has all the amenities we needed to cook multiple family meals. "The room decor is very unique and full of history. The back yard is full of surprises with nature and even a forest movement studio! Stuff are very friendly and easy to talk to. The owner herself is nice to chat with. Breakfast is included and delicious and healthy! We love this place!! "
