"A not so hidden gem with a rustic plantation ambiance. Lush surroundings, great parking, friendly staff, convenient to Volcano National Park. The 1/2 mile loop trail behind the property was a fun morning picker-upper to get the day started. It’s a little quirky that the guest check-in is in the gift shop, very laid back but service is wonderful. The restaurant is top notch and the portions are reasonable for the price. No tv in room which we did miss after a hard hike at Volcano, but not a deal breaker. in room gas stove was a cozy plus. The only thing we wish was different is the shower. The bathroom was plenty big but the single stand in shower was tight. Did appreciate the towel warmer . The night air was filled with coqui whistlings but we got used to it. Highly recommend and would stay again. "

"This place is huge! There was plenty of room for us to spread out and not get in each other's way. The pantry was also well stocked with things you might have forgotten to bring, which was a plus. The area is in a quiet neighborhood except, of source, for the coqui frogs that plague Hawaii. Even those can be charming with the right mood. We enjoyed a really relaxing stay here and appreciated the convenience to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Sadly, our departure was on a day when the nearby Cafe Ono wasn't open, but there's always next year. I'd cheerfully come back here for another stay!"

"The accommodations were terrific, a great value in superb location for visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo area. Spacious, comfortable beds. Host was very accommodating by offering to deliver to-go breakfasts as we had an early morning flight. I recommend the Lanikai Brewing Co for dinner if you stay here- the best food we ate in Hawaii for adults and kids- also great beer and excellent cocktail lists with low-key come as you are feel (i.e. sweatpants)."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the treehouse. The extensive use of wood, the cozy furnishingings, well stocked kitchen, amazing views of the rain forest and privacy. This did not feel like a basic rental, there were loving touches everywhere that made it feel like a home. The bed was so comfy and the towels were thick and luxurious. An unexpected syrprise were the nice bathrobes. The treehouse is super clean and the windows sparkle! We would definitely stay here again!"
