"Room was not clean and didn’t resemble photos. The shade for the balcony had stains on it, the shade was also older and had rips in it. When I went to bed I didn’t pay attention to the sheets until I woke up and realized there was a stain on the sheets. Just wasn’t what I expected and honestly wish ..."

"I researched many hotels before booking the Gateway. I read many reviews on the hotel, and I was concerned about the noise, but what attracted me to this hotel was the fact that the floors were not carpet and there were no thick curtains. I am so glad I chose the Gateway. The hotel and room were very clean! The bathroom was shiny. All remodeled rooms, no stinky and nasty old carpets because the floors are of a high quality laminate that does not feel cold to the feet. I loved that the room had shutters and not curtains. It was pitch black all night and in the morning, and no dusty or allergens from old curtains.
The sheets were very clean, beds were comfortable, pillows were comfortable. Customer service was great! Very polite and nice employees.
The hotel is adorable and it reminds me of Hawaii. It is modern, and decorated with beachy art and pictures from Santa Monica. The restaurant right next door is amazing. We had dinner there, It was gourmet food with an amazing atmosphere and vibe. The owners come out to greet you at the table. In the morning I got coffee across the street. Again, hip coffee shop, nice coffee and pastries. I am very picky and I don't usually love the hotels I stay at. I loved the Gateway and would definitely return. By the way, my room was not noisy. I was at the third floor.
PS: I booked through expedia and received a small sparkling wine bottle at check in :-)"

Just wasn’t what I expected and honestly wish I hadn’t stayed there and never will again. "
