"Our first room has plasters on the fire alarm, requested a room move , this happened and the bed was so hard we didn’t get much sleep, in the morning we requested housekeeping put a mattress topper on the bed , as they didn’t know , put one on each bed instead of 2 on the bed we were sleeping in , used the iron in the room on the morning resulting in a burn mark on my shirt , used the pool facilities and the ladies showers were awful with mould on the ground and silicone , Not a nice stay , although York was a beautiful city, breakfast was lovely , staff understood our issues "

"Straight from the off the staff were so friendly & helpful (all staff appeared to multi-task, one minute booking guests in, then serving drinks, putting luggage in luggage room. Our rooms were beautifully clean, the beds comfortable & pillows nice & soft, just as I like them. The hotel was busy but wonderfully peaceful. Our breakfast was amazing - a wonderful selection of cereals, fresh fruits, dried nuts & seeds plus two types of yoghurt. There were meats & cheeses & Danish pastries. For those preferring a cooked breakfast there were enough items to make up a full English. Lots of different fresh breads to toast. There was fresh flavoured water & cordials & a great variety of teas & coffee. On checkout the receptionist took our bags off us to store & also booked a taxi to the station for us. Couldn't have asked for a better stay & we'll definitely be back 👍"

"There were positives and negatives to our stay. The public areas and bar area were welcoming, clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and polite. While our room was clean and comfortable it was very much in need of a refurb. The bathroom was clean and functional but very tatty in places, especially the window area. Toiletries were provided, but as only product was a combined hand wash, body wash and shampoo they couldn’t be described as luxurious. Our main disappointment was when we were woken before 8am as workman were working on the unoccupied rooms along our corridor. This included removing the furniture into the corridor and taking up the carpets. We were not informed at check-in that the work was planned. The hotel is in a quiet area of Harrogate just 5 minutes walk into the town centre. Ample onsite parking although there is a £12/night charge. "

"Perfect for the city centre to get to all the bars and restaurants on foot we chose a river view and a high floor had a view of the minster the staff were great helping you with everything definitely going back "
