Pub located outside the city walls, a few minutes' walk from the city center. Parking available for customers. Very diligent staff. The room wasn't ready because we arrived early, but we were able to get the key right away.

This is a budget hotel so bear this in mind. The property is not modern which is not an issue but does need to be cleaner. The staff member was very polite and check in was quick. The parking was good and the location only about 10 mins walk into centre. Did not eat here so can’t comment on that.

This apartment was spacious and quiet. Clean, well-appointed bathroom and kitchen with lovely views and a short walk to the beautiful river path. I would go out of my way to stay here again!

Stayed for one night, I couldn’t find fault, friendly staff, perfect room for one and to top it off the evening meal I had, was excellent. Highly recommend as a place to stay in York.

Very adequate for a night or two's stay in York. Good size room with connecting bathroom.. All the facilities you need. Close to the riverwalk into York, which takes around 20 minutes to city and 30 to train station. Everything works well including hot shower. Above pub's snooker room, but I didn't find noisy. Nor road noise. Bed comfortable. Simple but well-served breakfast. No fuss check-in. Very good value.

WE TOTALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE LIGHTHORSEMAN - HAD A LOVELY QUITE ROOM WITH LOVELY REFURBISHED LARGE BATHROOM WHICH WAS SUPER CLEAN BED COMFORTABLE - HAD ONE BREAKFAST FIRST MORNING WAS LOVELY -IN WALKING DISTANCE OF CENTRE OF YORK, BUT ALSO ON A BUS ROUTE WHICH WE USED A LOT COS MY HUSBAND WAS RECOVERING FROM SURGERY & CANCER TREATMENT, SO DIDNT WANT TO DO A LOT OF WALKING , IT WAS PERFECT FOR THE BUS & ONLY £2.00 INTO TOWN EACH - IT WAS A LOVELY STAY & WOULD CERTAINLY RETURN. Friendly traditional Inn, good full English breakfast. Great location to walk into the City along the river, free parking also a bonus. Rooms are comfortable but the age of the building perhaps explains why the bathrooms and showers are dated. Enjoyed my second stay there and outside of building has been freshly painted.
