"The hotel is in Trastevere, which is a good part of town. The bus and tram stops are just out front, and so it was very convenient to get around. Our room was one of about 5 rooms that shared a common space. The common space included a sink, coffee maker and other items that may be more appropriate for a closet than for a communal living space. There is no front desk or staff present, so it is more like a pension than a hotel. Our room was clean with the exception of mold in the shower which really should have been taken care of. Our room had a small but nice balcony that overlooked Via Trastevere. Unfortunately, there was just one chair on the balcony that was unsafe to sit on. A table and additional chair were brought less than a day before we were leaving. Upon our arrival, I told the proprietor that our safety box meant to store passports and other valuables was broken. It was only fixed less than a day before we left, and so it wasn't useful. Overall, I think that just a small effort by the owner would really improve the quality of the room, the balcony and common space."

"The hotel is in a perfect location - walkable to everything in Trastavere. The staff was super helpful, and the free breakfast was amazing. The hotel itself wasn’t in the best condition. Lots of wear and tear and starting to show its age. It was great to have a balcony, but our bathroom wasn’t super clean. Strangely our room had only two usable outlets - none in the bathroom and none on or near the bed. We had to charge our phones across the room and couldn’t use hair tools in the bathroom. Overall a good experience but not quite what we expected from the pictures."

"Friendly, helpful staff - all the reception staff spoke English as well as Italian. There was a place to store baggage for early arrivals or departures after check-out, the room was comfortable with adjustable air conditioning and a shower with soap, shampoo and towels provided, and breakfast was great - a lot of variety! There were three kinds of cereal, loads of pastries and several types of bread, scrambled eggs and frankfurter slices (but one day there was bacon!), vegan pie, cake, varieties of fruit juice and a coffee vending machine, as well as cheeses, meats and salad. There’s also a little shop in case you’ve forgotten anything or want some snacks when the buffet has finished. The location is excellent - a five minute walk to the station, which has trains, trams and buses, and is one of the stops for the airport train, and a short walk to many restaurants with great food, and gelato in basically every direction, as well as other shops. If you don’t mind walking a little further, the Colosseum and Vatican are both less than an hour a way on foot!"
