My sister and I decided to stay in Rome for a full week and do day trips from there, rather than change hotels every couple of days. Since we were staying 7 nights, the hotel upgraded our room at no charge and gave us a slightly larger room and bed with a great view overlooking the Pantheon. We were very impressed with the service we received and very happy with the location and the beautifully and simply decorated hotel. We took advantage of the spa located on the 2nd floor, enjoying massages and a Turkish bath.
From this hotel we were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go within about 15-20 minutes. We took a bus to the Colosseum on our first day, but realized that it really wasn't that far and walked back. From then on, we walked just about everywhere. Piazza Navona is only minutes away, and Piazza del Popolo and Trastevere are about 15 minutes away in opposite directions on foot. It really is a very central location. The only downside to this fantastic location is that it is also the centre of all things tourist-driven, and so it can be fairly expensive to eat nearby. It is worth walking the 15 minutes to Trastevere or another nearby neighbourhood for most meals to get away from the tourist prices. That said, it was a lot of fun to sit outside at the restaurant downstairs (Scusate Il Ritardo) and sip a glass of wine while looking up at the Pantheon.
Our week at the Royal Pantheon Suite was as close to perfect as I've had in any hotel. Highly recommended!
We needed no public transportation during two lovely days in June when we saw all we wanted on foot. Excellent breakfast on the Piazza Rotonda while gazing at the Pantheon and enjoying a Roman early morning. Wonderful professional musicians played during the day and into the evening. Delightful.

The hotel Abruzzi is situated in the very heart of Rome , on Piazza della Rotonda , just in front of the Pantheon and a …More
Location was the best part, very central to all things we needed. Photos didn't look like the web page though. If travelling from North America, don't expect lavish, big rooms, in fact it was quite small and basic, but like I said earlier, it was a decent place to regroup after walking in the hot sun.
"Centrally located within walking distance of all"
Staff helpful and informative. Rooms are decent size for european standards with updated bathrooms. chose this boutique hotel b/c of location and reviews and were not disappointed. breakfast included every morning was important that we didn't have to run out anywhere to get food/coffee first thing. If ever back in Rome, would stay here again
Hotel Ponte Sisto was the perfect home base for our stay in Rome and was so centrally located that my husband, son and I were able to walk to every famous site. The continental breakfast each morning was lovely and the staff was always gracious and attentive. The only regret we had was not upgrading to a superior triple room. We were traveling with our 22 yr. old son and the deluxe triple was a bit tight for an 8 night stay. Overall, I would stay here again in heart beat!!
In the heart of the historic centre, Piazza Navona is Rome’s most famous square. Like a giant stage set, this is where the theatre of daily Roman life is re-enacted among the café tables that spill out onto the fountain-splashed piazza. Bernini’s baroque extravaganza, the Fontana dei Quattro Fiume, is the most celebrated of the three fountains. Nearby is the Pantheon – one of Rome’s great symbols and a marvel of ancient architecture.
