Many old black athletes, musicians, artists, and authors stayed there. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and the A/C sufficient. They even offered a nice breakfast snacks to start your day. We were allowed to check our bags in early, before we headed off for our cruise. The cruise port is very close to the hotel, so it is a great location...
