"Just wonderful all round. I'm a lone traveller and so there is always a little nerves about staying at a new place but the staff at the Jolly Sailor put me immediately at ease. Friendly smiles as I came in and throughout my short stay. The room was beautiful and had everything I could want including the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The food was delicious and locally sourced. All in all a fantastic place to stay, I can not recommend it enough. Thank you to the team at Jolly Sailor!! "

"Staff friendly and helpful from manager downwards. Rooms pleasant. Sports area and equipment was unclean and old. Didn’t get much information at check in about facilities and no information pack in room. Food great and service excellent. "

Fantastic service from finding it (yes finding the bright pink rendered building on market hill. I must be the only one who turned onto the wrong bright pink rendered building on market hill lol) check in was polite and efficient. Room was lovely. Great size for myself. Comfy bed and freeview on a decent sized wall mounted TV. Great night's sleep. I had to pass breakfast as I was in Maldon on business and have an early meeting. When I requested my invoice by email for my expenses it was too me first thing the following morning which makes doing my expenses near month ever more easy. Thank you for everything. Would definitely recommend and next time I'm in Essex I'll definitely be back Thank you all"

"The Blue Boar looks great if you like a bit of Olde Worlde charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was very very good - particularly the bacon! The hostess for the breakfast was also brilliant. The cleanliness of the room was a bit iffy - I won't go into details, just an attention to detail thing, although they did attend each day and refresh the towels / bed. It might have just been me, but the room was way too cold and no obvious way of adjusting the temperature - in the summer it would have been lovely but we're just not there yet."
